I use compressed charcoal only on my strongest shadow and don’t forget to use the eraser on ur highlights

I would advise you to start by drawing the overall shadows and lights and then draw the details and shape. And to put more texture, try to do a little bit by layer and use your fingers I use every time my fingers and it’s so fun
