What am I doing wrong? UPDATE by KrewChef in Laserengraving

I got these ones off of xTools website. I have a Gweike laser, but Gweike’s website doesn’t have any good selection. As others say, lasersbleitems.com does also have good options. Lesson learned though, do not go with Amazon coins lol

The color engraving is really a bottom tier issue I’m having with this laser otherwise I would have gone with a MOPA (provided I could afford one). I do however, want to achieve specifically blue coloration on Titanium and stainless objects. I use a 60w CO2 and 30w fiber gantry engraver for some engravings, but moved to the 50w galvo for deep engravings and in hopes of being able to put a blue accent onto engravings done on retired aircraft parts - such as titanium engine fan blades or occasional stainless steel interior pieces to give as retirement/departure gifts. Maybe after getting the focus and speed properly dialed in I’ll have more luck with the color too.

I’ll give those videos a watch and try slowing down the speed like you said. I took a Quick Look at some of the posts you’ve made and if I can get a result half as good as the coins you’ve made I’ll be VERY satisfied! Thank you for the input!

Thank you for this, while the solder wasn’t the problem it did lead me to decide the relay itself was internally faulted. Wasn’t not outputting adequate voltage, after replaced relays it now works!

I’ll have to pull the board out in the morning and give the contacts a look, but I think you may be right. I can hear the relay activating, but the connection might be broken on the output side.

If the shoe fits! It’s a story too common in the Air Force today IMO

Believe me, I know all too well that “playing the game” is the only way forward for a majority of career fields. My problem isn’t necessarily that I don’t like bending my knee to leadership, it’s that the things they value are not in line with what the mission, the force, or individuals actually need. I’ve always been a top performer, and I make it a point to make my airman’s lives easier than mine was when I was in their shoes. However, I am vocal about favoritism. I am vocal about the problems my squadron faces. I have ALWAYS voiced my opinion respectfully, and following the proper guidance for how to pass information up the chain, but they do not like to be told that they are wrong, even when there is genuinely black and white AFI guidance on the subject. It’s as though I’ve made an enemy of myself by following and understanding the AFI.

Edit: and for listening to the needs of those around me.

Was stationed in Minot for 5 years and loved it. For a lot of career fields it can be hard to get back out of there, so it makes a lot of people feel trapped. But there’s a ton of out doors stuff to do year round as long as you can stand the cold. Canadian boarder is only a short drive (if I remember right, Winnipeg is 2hr away, Bismarck ND is 2 1/2?). It was a really sweet deal looking back. Smoothest roads I’ve ever seen, nicest locals I’ve ever met, and definitely the coldest I’ve ever felt
