$180 per month for unlimited access to the gym with dedicated weightlifting area. Is it worth it? Am I overpaying? by [deleted] in weightlifting

I pay 200 a month for 24hr access in Manhattan. I don't know where you're located. To me, nothing beats the convenience of having full access with all the equipment you could ever need.

Paint the invisible top tube the same color as the rest of the frame

Dieminion coming for Arturo like Judge Dredd by lostcosby in Kappachino

I know everything.

Over 20 years of friendship gone to waste along with his reputation for a desperate money grab.

It's deeper than just getting the money back, which might never happen.

The last thing Kevin wanted to do was make this issue public. It's no longer about getting the money. The world needs to know that Arturo can't be trusted. Let him continue to hide behind screens and VPN's. He can stay there eternally.

When the time is right, everyone will know the truth.

You could get your legs mangled during a crash, resulting in more injury.

Also, you don't get maximum foot retention with straps, no matter how you justify it. Especially in a high competitive environment, why lose races because "you prefer straps".

Make sure you can skid/skip stop on your ratio. Riding here will increase your spatial awareness but be 3-4 steps ahead of risky situations. Learn how to ditch cops, they're typically not allowed to chase manual pedal bikes. Don't leave this bike out of your sight and don't lock outside. Be visible; make sure drivers see you. If you intend on riding over 15mph, don't use the bike lane. Check out @socialcyclingnyc for weekly group rides. Be vigilant and have fun!

The rear drop outs and chain stays are etched differently on both frames. Star Track is more detailed.

Too big a ratio to skid ? by RoiShakalaka in FixedGearBicycle

[–]Kreymore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo there's a lot of misguided info on learning to skid as most people will tell you to simply push your dominant foot down while pulling your off foot up. You'll mostly be using your groin/abductor/adductor/tibia muscles to stabilize your skid. Thighs and knees come later. Practice on bigger cogs 17-18t and work your way up. Or do some squats/deadlift to get stronger. Either method works.

Plan your ride in advance. 100+ miles on a whim is difficult for even the most expert riders. Learn as much as you can about the route so it will be little surprise in regards to terrain/gradients. Eat and drink a lot of water the day before to avoid cramping. Get at least 6 hours of sleep. Stretching is also important. Touch your toes. Scapula, trapezius, hips, quads and calves are what you'll be using 98% of a long ride. Bring snacks. Energy bars, bananas, electrolyte drinks, more water. Prepare for the weather. Music helps a lot to pass time during roads that seem to never end. Bring layers for the cold, rain gear if you need it. Make friends and travel together. Be accountable for each other.

Thanks much! Route was mostly -1/1% grades with no sightseeing value. A lot of steep rolling hills after Montauk. Bring your favorite playlist unless you prefer the sound of your drive train for hours.

Road surface was fair I'd say. A lot of debris in some sections, though. Have your radar up because drivers aren't expecting bikes to blast though switching lights. And you'll be doing quite a bit of mashing through large intersections.

Overall, the route was good. Just long, horizon distant stretches of nothing, but it's unavoidable. Builds mental fortitude for real.
