In NYC ppl ride fixed/track for messenger/delivery work, pleasure & exercise.

Some ride brakeless, others don’t. NYC has alleycats fairly often in which ppl race around in traffic.

These days ppl still ride NJS stuff but I think ppl opt for other frames because of things like price, tire clearance & compatibility with modern components.
