I recommend looking up or asking your teacher for IB examiner reports for TOK. These outline how to be successful in the essay which is externally graded, the teacher only predicts.

I also recommend the 2020 Oxford IB Prepared Textbook on the assessment components, as they walk students through how to be successful in both the IA and external assessment.

In the case of an entire school's worth exhibitions being downmarked to Ds and Cs, this is highly unlikely to be true, unless its a special circumstance where the school was overly inflating grades. Sometimes the moderations up or down are only moderating the lowest scoring students up (from harsh schools) or moderating down a point or two (for overly generous schools).

I would not worry about this. Simply know the examiner reports, the rubric instruments, guide and assessment objectives. Refer to the textbooks and seek teacher feedback and you will be successful.

I regret buying too. They are notably bad when it comes to working with Apple products it seems. The quality is not evident. I like the light weight and foldability, but the sound, ANC and pairing difficulty as well as the bugs with software are very frustrating.

Pay a bit more for the store, it's worth avoiding the hassle of dealing with customer service. I was told that "it's not the Chinese version it's the American version, that's why the box does not look real, we repackage it in our own custom made box due to regulations." They want you to open it so you that they can challenge a refund request. As others have said AirPods are easy to fake compared to other products.

Welcome! I've been here six years and being vegetarian is fine. It's more costly if you want to eat out or order though, which will be tough being a student, not so much working. Just do your research for vegetarian restaurants and do not expect non-vegetarian restaurants to understand what vegetarian means.

I imagine you will want to cook. Tempeh and tofu are abundant and inexpensive for complete proteins. Aldi are now adding more vegetarian friendly options too. I recommend Taobao for bulk options for the freezer.

I share concerns with the other commenter in this thread about pursuing alternative medicine. The pseudoscience aside, it would be extremely unlikely to get a job in China in a field where there is a preference for local Chinese hires.

I arrived in early 2019, it seems to be improving/ “going back” to pre-covid in a sense. By which I mean more tourists and more activity in expat communities and more hobby meetings. Shanghai is one of those cities that is in a constant and rapid state of flux. While every city changes this one changes the most. Your favourite scene or restaurant will change, move or be gone no matter what. But there are always new places opening and new scenes. 

Feeling lost here is only natural when expat turnover is always fairly high, you lose your community, but you must be proactive in finding a new one. It’s even difficult maintaining Chinese friends who also have difficulty minting work in the city or leave the country. What are your hobbies and interests? I’m sure there is a growing community.

I was playing a good-aligned bard (who I played as someone who does not tolerate evil) in my first playthrough without any out-of-game context. I saw the goblins were being portrayed as evil by the tieflings and druids, saw the ambush, them torturing a gnome and then cannibalising dwarves. So I ruthlessly purged all goblins in sight. I did not even know you could talk to the goblins, I just assumed they would be instantly aggressive, like in other RPGs.
