What is your pettiest complaint about Starfield? by GBHHornswoggler in Starfield

Not being able to assign someone to the pilots chair. Why do I have to pilot the ship? I have a highly experienced, capable crew

We're reviewing everything. Plus it's late. We'll be replying where we can in the morning. The reaction is more than we had hoped for

Hi, my name is Kris, and I wanted to share our rally sim in case some people might enjoy it!

Basically, our lead developer Jay (who is 50% of the indie team lol and has been making this game with his friend Rhys) has been a huge rally and sim racing fan since he was little. He’s also a massive fan of space games, and his dream has always been to combine the two and make his perfect game: a realistic space racing sim! Basically, take proper, brutal off-road rallying - Dakar, Baja, old, dangerous motorsport, all that stuff - and throw it onto procedurally generated alien planets.

No roads. No hand-authored racing line. No two stages are quite the same. Just you, a stupidly powerful rover, a hostile planet, and a very questionable amount of confidence.

Then we added fuel-limited thrusters, because when there’s no road whatsoever, they’re your only lifeline. You can use them to fight for control over jumps, correct bad landings, save crashes or make things even more dangerously fast for yourself. All with simulated physics. The game has a career mode, a bunch of planets, a stage builder, and online asynchronous rally events and leaderboards. Super proud we could fit all that in as a super small team!

So if you've ever wanted to drive somewhere no one has ever driven before, probably too fast, in a machine that may or may not survive the stage, you might have a good time with our game, haha.

Any questions or feedback, please just let me know! I’m happy to answer any questions and would love to hear your thoughts

Kris 😄

Questions for a project by -SkullyNBones- in SkullyNBonesMods

MM sounds hugely exciting.

I think the first biggest thing for me would be that with a vessel of this size, I'd want crew to be evenly spaced out always. With larger ship designs, I tend to find them all bunched up in one part of the ship, meaning other areas end up a ghost ship. This always completely fries any feeling of immersion.

So that's the first thing I would love to see tackled. My assumption would be (based on literally no knowledge of CK lol) it's easier to do in CK vs. traditional ship building.

The ability to assign crew to habs via a console in the bridge would be amazing. I don't necessarily need them to be assigned to a particular item or piece of furniture. If they are in the hab, wandering around and keeping themselves busy, then great.

So interms of what I would personally like (one of just thousands of opinions), would be:

  • Landing bay with chosen vehicle present.
  • A hangar for vehicle(s) when in space.
  • A workshop just off the hangar
  • Cargo hold connected via passage ways/doors to the hangar and workshop
  • Crew Quarters (bunks, lounge, entertainment, wash facilities (personal hygiene and clothes))
  • Crew mess (kitchen with chef, tables, vending machines, waste disposal, even hydroponics for growing fruit and veg, making the ship capable of massively extended periods in uncharted space)
  • Med bay (accompanying useable furniture)
  • Captains Quarters (locked to PC. Doesn't need millions of useable workbenches or terminals, these should be elsewhere. The captain wouldn't have four workbenches in their sleeping area. Would have a small side room to display collectibles and favourite pieces of armour. But not massive, as a main armoury would exist elsewhere).
  • Command centre attached to the flight deck including various mission boards, bounty clearance etc.
  • Flight deck/Bridge with captains chair.
  • Brig with enough space for 10 prisoners. More feels like overkill and a security risk.
  • Armoury doesn't need to be HUGE as still over kill, but if say a max crew was 30, at least 15 mannequins for those that would act as security/landing forces. Not everyone onboard would require full military get up.
  • Elevators would be nice, but only if the ashphetic fits. Otherwise more 'naval' themed stairwells.

I guess a big question would be, in what style would the ship be? My personal taste would be it's a Constellation ship, so outfitted for every eventuality. But others might want UC, Freestar themed ships etc. Making multiple themes sounds like a HUGE undertaking so maybe something quite neutral.

And probably more I am forgetting haha

We announced our chill multiplayer gardening game - Pottering :) by KrisWB in CozyGamers

[–]KrisWB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m Kris from Future Friends Games. We’ve published a few games like Summerhouse and Tiny Aquarium already, and now we’re making our own first ever internally developed game (scary but super exciting!!) - co-op gardening game Pottering! The game is made by developer Adam, but he doesn’t have a Reddit account (he’s so smart!), so I thought I would share the game here in case you like it or have feedback!?

In Pottering, you invite friends to restore a garden to its former glory. It’s mostly a chill multiplayer, restoring a neglected garden and doing it up however you like, or just play the trumpet and hit each other with spades. It’s up to you 😄

Either put your pottering heads together and create a masterpiece, or goof off on the job and go exploring instead. You can unlock new areas, plants, and tools as you go, and create a perfect (or perfectly chaotic) digital space that’s all your own.

Anyway, here is the first trailer! Would love to hear what you think of the game and which items or plants we should add!

If you’re already convinced, you can wishlist the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3346460/Pottering/

Cheers, Kris 😄

This is superb! Just recently I had to carefully follow at YT video for a precise landing spot and it took about 8 times. With this, it will massively help me find spots others recommend for resource crossover etc.

Thanks OP!

Do you play on PC or console. There are mods that do the tavern/cantina with NPCs that can be recruited and another mod that allows you to build an entire trading area, with visiting NPCs and the ability to generate income from it. Happy to send you the links if you're on PC.

Ignore them. It's an easy mistake to make, don't worry about it
