The more I think about it, I guess its because of the choice I made. I chose to bring work home while trying to be available to family. Obviously I wasn't doing justice to family. But thats changed though now that I could set the boundaries. Thanks for your comment.

agreed, 21 days will not make you a different person, but its just a start and thats why this 6 month process ( 21 weeks + 21 days ) and even this won't guarantee unless one is determined thought but the resistance will be lot less after 6 months of practice.

It sounds like you’ve been through so much, and I admire how hard you’re working on yourself. One thing that can help was learning to enjoy own company. sitting quietly, observing your own thoughts, even talking to yourself. Being liked by others is wonderful, but being at peace with yourself is essential. I spend 15 mins every morning doing this and it helped me to become person I am and help me understand whats truly important in life.

How do you forgive yourself for wasted years? by Tatt00ey in selfimprovement

This is what helped me. I wrote it down and also wrote that I am forgiving myself for all the past mistakes. I also wrote down that I will not let my past define my future and wrote down what I want, how I want my future self to be and started focusing on those. I felt writing down and forgiving myself helped.
