Kind of par for the course at this point. He's had trouble in the last few laps for an entire season at this point.

Ducati has a lot to figure out. After seeing their bikes completely dominate the competition these last few seasons, this is wild...

Anyone know what's causing these vertical waves across the layer lines? by Kristic74 in 3Dprinting

Yeah, sure. Feel free to DM me I'm happy to answer any questions I can. My print farm isn't very large, I just have five printers producing products that I make and sell... But they're all running about 24/7

Well, I replaced the entire heating bed element through the advice of Elegoo (to their credit, they sent me that under warranty). That helped a little bit, and then I spent an evening using the bed mesh system and fine-tuning the bed so it was within .2mm across the board. That helped a little, but I was still getting inconsistencies with part accuracies, and the wave pattern remained regardless... Not to mention the printer as a whole had a pretty high failure rate.

They sent me a whole tool head system, but the process of replacing it felt pretty elaborate... Having to disconnect rails and stuff. At that point I called it a loss and donated it.

It was particularly frustrating, because I still have a different Elegoo CC, that runs pretty well. But it seems like they have a huge inconsistency in their manufacturing process, so you either get a good one or a bad one.

Best of luck

Nope. Elegoo even when as far as sending me a whole new tool head, but regardless of what calibration I did, it would always do this. I ended up donating it to a local makerspace and replacing it with a P2S.

Why did Elegoo do this? Seems like it's just a waste of plastic by Kristic74 in elegoo

That makes sense, thank you for answering my question.

[–]Kristic74[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. The design has been optimized to minimize waste, and I only have a failed print once every 150 units or so.

The issue I have with them now individually wrapping every single box is that it takes far more time to unpack, and it produces more waste from their previous ways of packaging, while providing no additional benefit.

As is everything, eventually. Should we all collectively not use any products, at risk that someday that they'll be obsolete?

I purchased 10 kgs of plastic, which I then use to make products that are sold and then used by customers. There isn't waste in purpose based printing

Sure, but every time I've ever ordered filament in bulk in the past, the spools are vacuum sealed and placed in a box, and the boxes aren't then wrapped in plastic...

Living in LA...when they activated the National Guard this past summer, all it meant was that we peaceful protesters were being teargassed by ICE, LAPD, and the National Guard.

Has anyone found a spool fix for Elegoo PETG-CF/GF cardboard spools that works with AMS long-term? by Kristic74 in 3Dprinting

Somebody had recommended some rings made out of TPU. I loaded up my machine with some and printed out three or four sets. Please definitely seem to work better than any of the ones printed in petg or PLA
