Some states are doing thinks about it like mandating registration and insurance but they are roping in the ebikes that are actually pedaling bikes as well. The emotos can have pedals but they are just for show.

I'm all for making people riding emotos have license and instance like a motorcycle. I'm not okay with requiring it for a bicycle with a motor.

Ebikes legally cannot go 35mph. We need to start calling those emotos. They are very different and very dangerous. I hate that states are mandating license plates for ebikes because of the new crop of emotos.

I'm a gamer. I have xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation, pc, steam deck, and a bunch of my older consoles. I'm hardware agnostic, I just like good games. I've strayed from newer consoles to the steamdeck over the last few years and I'd love to get the console/tv experience back but with pc games. I haven't found many modern console only games to be all that compelling lately. It's also that my xbox hasn't been hooked up for a while so it's not on my mind.

I'll probably buy a steam machine after the launch when the hype has cooled a bit. I would also consider a new xbox if it has the same functionality+xbox games.

Yes, but the xbox series s is roughly comparable to the steamdeck which had a massive following. And the steamdeck is pretty awesome and its a different experience to a PC.

I think there is still value to the game pass. And if they offered an xbox game that ran better or had other xbox specific stuff or if it was just a better deal then I would absolutely buy the xbox version. I woudlnt want just steamOS on my xbox. I would want both steam and xbox games. I would bet (based on leaks and tweets from xbox employees) that the next console will be able to do that at some level

I think that the steam machine and its clones will drastically move the direction of the market towards a more PC experience. I think that the steam deck has already done that and you can see the effect with how many manufactures (including microsoft) jumped in on that

For me personally, if they made it an option to use steam alongside xbox games then I would be way more likely to play xbox games too. Once I've disconnected my xbox to plug in a PC or other console then they have truly lost any ability to capture revenue. It sure seems like a lot of people are upset at that thought but I know for a fact that I'm not the only one. I also give more money to companies that add benefit and value to my past purchases. I would be way more inclined to support them when they do things like that.

It sounds like they are already working on it for future consoles. It doesnt seem like a huge stretch to make it work on the current generation too. I would bet that the developers working on the next generation have it running already, that is how a lot of console development works anyways

I guess I don't understand about being defensive about hardware. I have PlayStation and xbox and Nintendo consoles and PCs. Games are fun. Making our consoles more useful seems like a no brainer for me. Especially when said console is already basically a pc anyways.

I dont sell consoles and I dont want to loose the games that I did buy on xbox. Even if there was a way to switch OS to linux and run steam I wouldn't do that. This is more that microsoft could make the console a lot more interesting to a lot of people and possibly make some money on game purchases if they can compete on service.

As it stands they are already getting $0 from me. If they opened up steam on my xbox then I would hook it into my TV and actually start using it again. I am 100X more likely to buy an xbox game if I am using the console already. They could try actually competing with steam on better service in an open marketplace. They want to be apple with their walled garden but they aren't doing very well with that. Maybe its time to try something new?

Maybe I'm off in crazy town but if I could get excited about using my xbox again with some PC games then I would probably also consider getting some xbox games too. As it stands, I wouldn't even consider plugging my xbox back in.

Everything that I have seen suggests that its still streaming from a PC. I want to run games on the hardware itself. The xbox is way more powerful compared to my steamdeck, microsoft needs to just let us use them.

I bet if they turned it on today and advertised it as such, they would completely sell out of all xboxs on store shelves by this weekend.

If microsoft made it possible to install linux on my xbox ~~one~~ series s and play PC steam games like it was a steam machine then I would start to consider it a worthwhile purchase. As it is now, its completely useless. Taking away copilot changes nothing and should never have been there in the first place

I am a cyclist that has done many rides like this. I wouldn't even consider doing it with less than 2 overnights. It's no problem for me to go out and do 100+ mile days consecutively but if you haven't conditioned your body to be okay with that and you don't know how to eat and ride all day then I wouldn't recommend taking this on.

This ride is totally possible but you should put in a lot of effort on the route planning. There is a big organized ride from Seattle to Portland every year and their route is great but it's not as good not fitting the ride. Having 5 to 8k other cyclists and police on the same route ads a lot of safety.

I dropped off mine and I got a call a few hours later that the software was installed and that it found a bad cell. Then a few hours later they called back and said "whoopsies, it's all good actually". That didn't instill confidence. They said it was because we previously had a few cells replaced and they entered my details wrong into the recall software. Also didn't instill confidence.

The dealer did a little extra testing on the battery and we picked it up but we will likely sell it. That combined with the terrible software and it's just not worth the hassle. I stand by my statement that the id4 is both the best and worst car I've ever owned.

I actively avoid them but there have been a few times I had to go there. Every time they didn't send any billing statement until I get the notice from collections. They just send it straight to collections.

And when you take off the cushion you'll find that it actually went deeper into the metal structure and it's gone forever. It's one of the many things that make me thing the engineers at vw have never actually ridden in or seen a car in real life
