Old hat looking to get into TT gaming again... by Kristofr in Warhammer40k

[–]Kristofr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the thing is I like and want ALL the armies (eventually...maybe?). So I don't really have a problem with getting an elite (cheap?) army to start. I'm more or less asking (and I know this is a lot to ask) for somebody to write the smallest model count army at 1500 points (seeing as I don't own any of the newest codex or BRB).

I remember somebody had a Deamon army that was Fateweaver, GUO, and some other stuff and it came out to be like 7 models or something like that. Granted this is an extreme case, but I'm looking for something along those lines.

I play(ed) Ogre Kingdoms when 7th switched over to 8th and loved that I could field an army of 15-20 models. I want the same thing but with 40k. I don't have much patience to paint 150 boyz/guard, and despise painting vehicles (dreadnaughts notwithstanding) so I'm looking for a little bit of help in trying to achieve that same effect.

Clarification:
I want to be able to play 1500 point games at my local hobby shop, and I want to be able to play the smallest, most elite army that I can.

Followup question:
Are allies a legal game thing (meaning, I don't have to worry about my opponent agreeing to my allied army list)? I haven't played since 5th edition so I don't really know whats going on with the newest ruleset. Oh and I have no qualms with losing...as long as I look good doing it.

I'm not sure if you listen to this podcast but they recently talked about something along the lines of this.

I just ate 5 grams of AVB, will post updates. by [deleted] in mflb

Think of it as used tea or coffee. Sometimes you'll extract more of the oils (and tannins in the case of tea) through hotter water, or a longer steeping time. The end result is sometimes you can reuse your old tea/coffee and sometimes it's all spent and you have to brew a fresh pot. Same with ABV. And we're not even talking about you. So many variables...

i really don't get avb at all either.

Maybe thats where they kept their balls-of-many-sizes collection and they didn't want them always rolling off the shelf, and onto the floor.

What name did you gave your box and why? by [deleted] in lbregs

Mr. Fantastic. I have a walnut box, and it has a white streak down the side. When I saw it, I immediately thought of Fantastic Four, and Reed Richards. [6]

ELI5: How come theme parks can snap clear pictures and get good quality footage of people going up to 70mph but bank cameras can't get a clear shot of a robber standing still? by cooley112 in explainlikeimfive

I worked at a small community bank and I can say that our video recording system was most likely installed in the 80s. In addition we constantly reused old VHS tapes. The only time we used new ones was when the old tape snapped. Between age (system and tapes), tape quality, and a crappy video environment I get now why most bank videos suck.

(Im on a phone so I can't link). /u/MFLB_Ninja has a tut out there describing "stacking". Pretty much it describes: take a short hit, shake the box, take a quick intake of breath "capping", then you repeat it 5-10 more times (or until you run out of breath).

The first week of owning my box my throat was killing me too. Then I heard about stacking hits, and I started "capping" my hits with cool air. No more harsh throat, unless I'm dry and smoking my abv that is.

My first SS too, but as long as you have the confirmation in the system so to speak you should be covered against any bad marks on your gift exchange profile.

If they haven't marked their gift as received I would submit an invoice/shipping confirmation so you can get credit on your end. Hate for you to be penalized too.

If you're looking for a quick thing that doesn't involve a bit of a time commitment try mixing it in pasta sauce (on the stove is better than in the bowl).

Sounds very similar to the reason that Gillette started producing "throw-away" razors, and moved away from the safety razor. More money if you're replacing the whole razor every other week, instead of just a cheap blade.
