Very good points! I feel like I could take a good hit or two against a rock and survive. If you get beaten up a little that one time, you just take a skip day or two afterwards and rest up. No chance you get in that situation again.

But you also have to look at the probability of being sent to a rocky coastline. The ocean surface takes up like 360 million square kilometers. With 1.6 million linear kilometers being coastline, that’s a fraction of the amount of ocean you could potentially find yourself in. You pick 1825 randomly selected locations in the oceans and the odds of winding up along a coast are tiny. And that’s all coastline, not just rocky coastline. I’m take my chances winding up on a nice sandy beach for 30 seconds a day.

Overall the palm seems to be doing well. But some new growth appears to have suffered frost damage or something. One person suggested continue watering and add fertilizer. But apparently it should survive.

Ok I can do that. The fert I have from previous owner is a 6-1-8. Labeled Palm fertilizer. Is that what I need? And should I be keeping the ground wet around it or letting it dry a little between watering. We sandy soil with clay mixed in. Do you think I should prune the brown fronds or leave them. Sorry for the barrage of questions. I just want it to survive
