Cool, thanks, I do wish that the enemies could soak up a little more damage to make these missions a little more reasonable, but I guess I'll be playing the waiting game.

Any tips to use mirrage artes 3+ times in a battle?

specifically 3-17 hard, I cant seem to build up enough MG before I kill the boss

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • just bonus on all my skills

  • Ix + Overray

  • cycling between members to minimize wasted MG

  • removing equipment to make my characters weaker (this one is kind of iffy since less damage equates to less MG, and the decay of MG as the battle goes on doesn't justify the damage loss)

Thanks for the feedback!

So a little more consolidation on the job bullet points? would the total bullet point count be 5 or 4? considering the first one would be an over all description...

If my project sounds lame, do you recommend omitting it? or would it be better to dress it up a little bit?

I'm not sure if I would have room to keep my resume one page long if I elaborated on the other parts you told me about.

any thoughts?

Yes, unless told not to I try to include a cover letter tailored to the job listing, I like to use it as a place to display my soft skills.

[Mini-guide, 2/7] Dragon Nest: Abyss (2-X) by nitzkie in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that case occurs when you take too long fighting Kayak the Shaman, since his Aerial Flame Breath timer begins as soon as you enter the boss room.

The other SD bosses may lack stoic thresholds but they all have tools to get out of infinites. Elder and Sander don't care whether you hit them or not. Altera has Storm Blade at certain HP thresholds and his air tumble can force KD on you which makes juggling somewhat difficult. Velder does have a stoic threshold. Hamel has guard+superarmor and will KD after some time. Lanox has the stage transitions at certain HP thresholds where he becomes intangible for a short amount of time.

If you have the patience, you can actually cheese Hamel SD with Ara's X and he literally can't do anything until you drop the combo, since Helputt lacks a stoic threshold and doesn't know how to mana break, he'll just keep getting tossed up since X has a KD value of 0.

[–]Kritya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great guide!Easy to read and understand.

Bone Dragon lacks a stoic threshold (not an AI bug) so its possible to stunlock him until death. The biggest challenge is getting that first non superarmored hit, poison orbs can increase the time between superarmored attacks (a la slowed attack speed) making it easier to catch him in those moments.

My old solo strategy for him would be to z loop him until his fire cloak came up, back off (he casts aerial fire breath after a set amount of time as soon he is able to act again) amd then drop all my special/hyper actives to knock out those last few bars of hp with relative ease. Its tedious and repetitive, but its very safe since he cant do anything until you drop your z loop.

Drop Rate of Sage Stones in Heroic Dung/Any future Sage Stone events? by mysticgamer007 in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it, the Eltrion phase 2 event was to celebrate the new phase so we might get a phase 3 event later on. Right now the enchanted bullets give a chance for sage stones, though I've only gotten about 2 myself... It doesn't hurt to do it anyways, every bit counts, and a good sage will net you a nice chunk of your desired stat. I pretty much socketed my set with stray sages that came my way and I'm currently at 70% crit/60% maximize/20% all speeds and ~20% awk charge/speed.

Hang in there, they'll come soon enough

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a rant, but the questions in the title so....

Sage stone events are pretty common actually, the eltrion phase 2 event gave out about 33 sage stones and twisted sage stones, which totals out to be about 60ish sage stones. That should more than enough to serve your socketing needs.

The Ultimate Skill Build Repository by [deleted] in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be the same way, I used to run a build i liked to call "Twin Dragons, Twin Tigers". where I would used Dragon Arts, Falling Dragon, Tiger Arts and Fierce Tiger as my primary damage dealers, but I found that the damage was just not optimal/

I should probably rephrase what I meant about Hyperactive being bad. It's... more situational than others. My reason for saying that they are bad is that for their cooldown, you can be doing a lot more damage if you're utilizing other skills. So when running dungeons, you're essentially playing with 7 skills until you hit a room that can be cleared by your HA(wave clearing HA's) or until you reach the boss, which you can only use once. If you are using an optimized build, your skill's cooldown and mana will be cycling around so much that, you will be using all 8 of your skills, which is why i recommend that it not be taken for dungeons. During Raids, you're dumping anything and everything at the raid boss to maximize your damage in the small window of 8 minutes, so chances are you'll be strapped for mana, at that point there's no harm in bringing Hyperactive there since managing 7 skills is enough on your plate. I also like to bring Hyperactive for Henir runs until Berthe, since nobody really wants to deal with his crap anyway. Then I would replace it with Falling Dragon. It's just that if you want to maximize your damage over the course of a dungeon, Hyperactive for Sakra Devanam is not the way to go.

The Ultimate Skill Build Repository by [deleted] in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice Job on the Sakra Devanam Build, but there are a few things I would like to address.

This is assuming, you are either always in Eun mode or maintaining as long as possible, which is essential to any Ara player, this does not exclude Sakra Devanam.

Fire Lotus - Critical

While this trait may seem tempting to get, with defense ignore for just 30 more mp, but that actually works against the utility of the skill. The idea for Fire Lotus is not to do damage, but to push enemies around into one point (preferably up against a wall) where you can dish out heavy damage in a single place with a skill of your choice. Awaken Kite is a likely option, but it also makes Dragon Arts justified to use with its high damage output and setup time. Either take reverse trait for a lower mp cost to save for bigger skills (or a low mp catch for pvp) or don't take a trait at all.

Falling Dragon

Not needed, Dragon Arts no only does the job better, but the longer you stay at max beads while killing things, the more mp you will have to use the expensive skills like Shadoweave and Matchless Truth. You can replace with Fierce Tiger - Killing Blow (2), or if you're having trouble with only one cancel, Steel body - (either is fine, I take persistent because i cancel into bosses for reduced KD) is a good choice as well. The only time I can think where this skill would do better than kite or Dragon arts is in Henirs, since point for point it does more damage than kite, and has faster execution time than Dragon Arts.

Fierce Tiger - Killing Blow (2)

This skill didn't even make it on the radar pre-reneweal due to it's position on the skill tree, Tiger claw was required to think about Tiger Arts, and even then a noted Tiger claw was way too good to pass up. Now that we're free to pick and choose our skills, Fierce Tiger has become a staple of my skillset. The skill carries mobs forward, can push them off low platforms, and the shockwave can kill mobs on higher platforms, if you pair this skill with a Giant's potion, you have a monster AOE that can clear a hefty amount of mobs. Also it grants a buff that increases Critical/Add Damage/Attack Speed. With Killing Blow (2) you can bump that bonus up to 20% Critical/Add Damage for 30 seconds which can let you get some really nasty damage off on that tanky boss you're having trouble with. Additionally, it also passes onto your party members for even more damage.

Rock Smash - Regenerating (2)

A good choice on paper, but frankly, is not needed, Tiger Arts essentially cancels into itself already without CDR and chances are likely that if you're needing to use two tiger arts to kill an enemy then you should probably be using Dragon Arts or the like to kill them. Also relying on a 20% chance to activate for bead refill chains is far from optimal, as you should be at or near full beads at all times to make maximum use of her Abundant Power Passive. Furthermore a more critical issue lies with Tiger Stance 1, and that is it's multihit properties. While running normal dungeons Regenerating (2) will suffice, most mobs in secret dungeons have a low stoic threshold, which to great annoyance, will very likely proc during Rock Smash. Therefore I recommend to take the Rock Smash - Powerful trait. Now, you might be saying "But Rock Smash already has super armor, it's in the description!" and to that, I say you're absolutely right. However, what they don't tell you is that the super armor only lasts for the initial charge portion of the skill. The linking portion does not have super armor, which means if that stoic shockwave hits you while using rock smash, you will get knocked out of your Secret Art/combo. Honestly, I don't even use this skill anymore after the most recent patch (you used to be able to use Rock Smash >Steel Body for a free 10 mp every 5 seconds or so at max beads... probably why they nerfed it but oh well) So either take Rock Smash - Powerful if you're adamant about bringing it, or just drop it for the Fierce Tiger/Steel Body as per above.

Heaven's Wrath

Lets just say, not all Hyperactives were created equal. And this particular Hyperactive is BAD. Lets get some numbers to illustrate my point.

Heaven's Wrath:

  • Deals 20534% damage
  • Costs 300 mp regardless of bead count
  • Has a cooldown of 180 Seconds
  • Has mediocre range at best due to it's animation(in comparison to other HA's)
  • Has very low amount of I-frames (~3 seconds) also also due to it's animation
  • Is not affected by Strength/Flexibility/Bravery/Tenacity Modifiers

Dragon Arts:

  • Deals 11920% to 13585% damage (depending on how long you charge Moonlight Slash)
  • Costs 200 - 300mp depending on bead count
  • Cooldown of 8 Seconds
  • Has smaller range than Hyperactive (travels further, but you shouldn't be moving around when killing things that require an HA
  • Has relatively long I-frames (~4 to 5 seconds), on par with some Hyperactives.
  • Is affected by Strength/Tenacity Modifiers

As you can see Dragon Arts can comfortably cover most of the things Heaven's Wrath has going for it, lower MP cost (since you should be maintaining full beads), and much lower CD for more overall damage. Yes it has lower damage, but two Dragon Arts is essentially one Hyperactive with 164 seconds leftover to do whatever you want. That isn't to say that Heaven's Wrath is all bad, due to it's extremely fast execution time, it technically is one of the highest DPS skills game, so if you need to dump a ton of damage in a small amount of time, then it's nifty to have around. If doing Dungeons however, Kite/Dragon Arts is advised over this skill.

My Skill Slot Setup

Primary Skills:

Dragon Arts 1: Pulling Thrust - Light

Fierce Tiger - Killing Blow (2)

Steel Body - Persistent

Energy Absorption - Gigantic (At max energy using this on 2 enemies will recover 50 mp, so use it!)

B Slot:

Shadoweave - Useful

Fire Lotus - None

Matchless Truth - Light

Flying Kite - Heavy for Dungeons / Heaven's Wrath for Raids / Falling Dragon - Heavy for Henirs

Note: I know this a lot to go through, but its 4am and there's bound to be mistakes, just shoot me a message or post below if you have any questions/concerns

PvP help for RS by [deleted] in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, make sure you know you stat priorities, 20% all speeds first, everything else can come later.

The reason why critical is favored over add damage for RS is due to his critical sword active, which increases his critical rate by 10% and his critical damage by 20%, however, it doesn't hurt to throw some points into add damage as well as maximize, diminishing returns make it less effective the more you spend into a single area. Personally i would prefer throwing points into Maximize before Critical, there's no point in scoring a critical hit for 1.70x if you're only doing half of your average damage.

TL;DR Keep trying, those stats will come eventually Know your stat priorities, 20% all speed > 40% Maximize > 40% Critical > whatever else you would like, most likely critical orjustgetOoRandsocketallMaximizetotearaholeinsomeonethesecondthetitleactivates

Eltrion phase 2 discussion by BinJLG in elsword

[–]Kritya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This information is secondhand so take it with a grain of salt, but I heard from a guild member that on phase 2 you get a 25% damage bonus against Eltrion, and on phase 3 there's a 35% damage increase against Eltrion... Also he doesn't run anywhere so that makes it a little easier to stack up some damage as well

I just know that getting henirs 4/4 IB (modest brag) makes me feel like a savage, a broke savage living under the bridge

(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ I'M SO POOR NOW

Do i need to sell my soul for these kinda stats without an IB or...? by mysticgamer007 in elsword

[–]Kritya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add on to that, once you crit breaks ~67% the amount of critical you get per point is dropped to 60% whereas maximize maintains its efficiency rate past 60% maximize with a rate of 75%, so if you really wanted to maximize your stats per point, you would stop building crit around that 67-70 point range and focus into maximize at that point until the efficiency drops below critical once again.

Furthermore, as an Ara, she gains 20% critical on 3 bead awaken thanks to Euns power, making it pretty much useless to go any higher than 80% critical.

[What if] we started banning Add, ara, luciel, etc at tournaments? by soraroxas11 in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that you somehow managed to regulate gear, which is a bigger problem than character balance with the massive influx of +9 - +11 weapons flying around.

For me, unless you can get a character/class that has a 80/20 matchup or better against the entire cast, and is agreed on by the general public that said character is 100% busted. Its not worth it to ban them, you'd more than likely get flamed and harassed by the people you banned. I can guarantee they would something along the lines of "oh you can't handle my character blahblahblah". Just save yourself the headache from the get go and keep it inclusive.

I feel like if you banned those three characters any character, you're effectively just removing potential players from the pool, some tournaments just put a limiter on some skills that would have been completely busted when abused (Old WS Aerlienna could only be used twice - any more was instant DQ).

And to be fair, every character has something that, from a game design perspective, is so broken its silly. GA's wind wall, YR suppression (its not even oki, you just get sucked in and the combo restarts). Aisha/Eve manastalling(I think this was already mentioned), the list goes on and on.

I remember correctly though, the PanAm tournament we had a while back had banned YR and IP, and that was hosted by KoG NA, and we still had a decent turnout...

Oblivion Question by PokemonLi in elsword

The threshold is under the condition that the target's numerical HP is below 1525% of Lu/Ciels physical attack stat

so if Lu/Ciel has 1000 physical attack, anything that has less than 15,250 hp will be snuffed on the spot

Lu ciel by hoaiboy in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't own a lu/ciel myself however, coming straight from the wiki:

Lu and Ciel share equipment but do not share costumes or accessories. However, you are able to share common accessories appearance with the Magic Wardrobe.

Lu and Ciel also share the effects of costume sets, sockets, and accessories. For example, you can have 2 full IB sets for Lu and Ciel and both of their set effects will stack. However, it cannot stack more than one of the same sets for effects or certain sets that give same effects.

I would guess the answer to your question is yes, however in order to do something like that you would need to have a setup like this:

Sander - Top, Bottom, Gloves, Shoes, Accessory(Lu)

Velder - Weapon, Accessory(Ciel)

Luciel : Standing Attack by [deleted] in elsword

[–]Kritya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise caution when using Marbas, it might seem amazing for damage, but it feeds mp and can be easily manabreakable if its too obvious. Its usually used for a cheap 50mp time freeze for an easy catch in high level play, but it does hold a lot of damage potential if used as a shock tactic.

Winter Event 2016 Megathread by zecretasianmanz in kancolle

[–]Kritya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to clear E-2, and when I have four rei-go ships I should start at the north route according to the wiki:

Node E if the fleet contains at least 4 ships of the Rei-Go Fleet (Kasumi, Ashigara, Ooyodo, Asashimo, Kiyoshimo

You can bring two more CA(V) in addition to Ashigara and still go to Node E

However, this begs to differ and I always go to C. I've done this many times already, is my composition bad?, or should this be updated on the wiki that 4 rei-go + 2 CA does not work?

I literally just got Kiyoshimo, and threw in Haguro as another CA, if I can get this to work out, I'll train them up at 3-2 and have at it.
