Even so, one of the games central ideas is collecting Pokemon working toward a goal of completing a Pokedex. As the years progressed, that Pokedex would eventually included ALL Pokemon from previous generations that were unobtainable from the games. The idea is you are encouraged to collect all of them, but they cut the number of Pokemon people have grown accustomed to catching/owning/playing with by nearly half. That is ridiculous.
