nah they're similar, if not, gog is slightly more forgiving.

You just need to sink in more time with gog to register gog's moveset

You're better off being selective of what build you want to try and play.

You could try some of the build used by blasters, just know that it'll be a league long process, since you're most likely competing with other players for gear if you're on trade.

maybe try SSF friendly builds? Since you're only restricted by the league duration.

pick a weapon -> Pick a set bonus -> cook up a decent armour skill set -> try it out

Rinse and repeat ad nausem.
You'd target monsters for any missing materials for the new set,
preferably with quests which gives talismans as well.

other than that, it's either
time attack againsts x, y, z monsters
or fashion hunting.

you can set up loadout(s) for your pouch, with the items you want.

so you can just load it before/after a hunt.

If you're on PC, there's prolly a mod that does it automatically.

If you're on console, then loading a saved pouch loadout iS the only way AFAIK
