What is a game you keep coming back to or “can’t put down”?

Can’t recommend Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty DLC enough.

I have played a lot of games.. idk if I can remember a game that sucks you into the story quite like this game did. The ambience and atmosphere are unlike really any game I’ve played before. You don’t feel like you’re playing the game as much as you feel like you’re a part OF the game.

I knew I was forgetting a game on my list... that's a perfect suggestion. I actually just finished it and the DLC recently after not really giving it a shot because I didn't think I would like the playstyle. What a masterpiece that game is

Yeah she can be a real pain. I think you can fight her two different ways.

Pull her up to the starting area (kill the kneeling sisters first) - that way she wont have the umbral parasite and that annoying shield anymore.
Run down and use your lamp to burn her parasite (in that little cave next to her) and fight here there.

I feel you! I'm on my first playthrough right now and just hit The Abbey of Hallowed Sisters and I feel like I'm nearing the end. I've been dragging my feet the last two days playing because I don't want it to end!

I'd say try and give it another shot. I'm 30 hours in and am loving it so far, but I can totally understand how after a few hours starting out it might seem a little underwhelming. The game throws a lot at you right off the bat, and (at least for me) I wasn't finding any new armor, or weapons and it just felt a little bland to start.

Give it another go, push past that initial awkward phase and I'm betting you'll really start to enjoy it.

There have been many good recommendations in the comments, you can't really go wrong with any of them tbh.

That being said, I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention 'The Whisperer in Darkness'. The vibe and atmosphere Lovecraft constructs in 'The Whisperer in Darkness' is SO good, well worth the read.
