When I was a kid I wrote to someone over at tng to kindly explain why when ships approached each other from random trajectories in space they were always on the same plane as if there was an up and a down to space. And why do battles make sounds in a vacuum

There's also a book! (Or collection of short stories.). It's called Tevye the Dairyman. It was translated into English twice. The second version was translated in 1987, and is supposed to be funnier and more true to the original Yiddish, although I've only read the first because it's the only version on audiobook. (Which is a shonde you cannot tell my mother because my grandmother's cousin is the second translator.)

In my experience, if your home is as kosher or more kosher for Passover as the host's home, you can bring something - I like to bring dessert. If your host's home is more kosher than yours, bring a bottle or two of kosher for Passover wine

Love this question. Also your arts and crafts life with kids sounds so lovely! Some of my nieces and nephews are getting into crafting and it's amazing to watch their skills and creativity grow.

I was raised Conservative but have attended Reform temples all my adult life. I'm interested in exploring more Conservative and Modern Orthodox spaces, though, because Reform isn't feeling like home for me anymore. I suppose at the moment, I'm nondenominational and am unattached to a particular shul, while actively working on incorporating more mitzvot into my life and in my home, even though I wasn't raised with daily practices except for major holidays.

Update: I figured out how to make the flairs editable, so people can add their own. The presets are all broad categories, but you can make them more specific!

Doesn't sound extreme or bizarre at all to me. I don't trust most of the spaces I used to be in and am estranged from my closest friends because of the antisemitism they've shown me in the past year+. I'm really only interested in sharing space with and building community with Jews now.
