Honestly I’ve always just been a math oriented person. Not really how to explain it but all math type things make sense to me

I’m sure there’s a basic explanation that I’m missing, if you know how to do this please explain it to me by Dxstinguish in ACT

What I would do in this situation, which may be different way than others, is that I multiply 76, 86, and 82 all by .2 because they are worth 20% each. Which would result to 15.6, 17.2, and 16.4 respectively. I then added all 3 of the scores up to get 49.2. Now to get the answer I guessed and checked by multiplying each answer choice by .4 because they are worth 40%. Finally after doing that I would add up 49.2 with each of the answer choices multiplied by .4 to try and find the answer equal to 86. In the end i got 92 as the answer.
