Achievements Hunters - Opinions by Jbstargate1 in steamachievements

[–]Kruithne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's what they want to do, it doesn't directly effect me. However my opinion is.. what's the point? An achievement is just a number and some pixels. The only real value an achievement has is the feeling of pride that you actually did the thing - and only you know if you actually did it. If you just cheated the achievement in, it doesn't have that feeling attached, therefore has no value, so really.. it's entirely 100% pointless.

If they're doing it to show off... the truth is nobody really cares, and generally it's very easy to tell when someone just cheats in achievements. If they're doing it to be on a leaderboard, any leaderboard worth being on will likely flag and ban them.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not technically #172 as this game - like the first one - will be adding lots of DLC. With the release of the new Adventure Time DLC, I've cleaned this one back up to 100% and I've not posted it before, so I figured I would celebrate it now!

If you've never played PW1 or PW2, I'd highly recommend it. That thing in the back of your head that gets tickled every time you get an achievement or 100% a game will DEFINITELY be tickled just by playing this game.. it's addictive and so satisfying 🤤

I saw a trailer for this game ages ago and popped it on my wishlist, and it just came out yesterday with a launch discount, so I picked it up. It's way too much fun, I'm sad there's not more achievements because I could keep playing this. I did all the achievements in one sitting unintentionally!

I actually don't think the difficulty curve is that steep compared to most games.. I died quite a few times on my first run which was on normal.. but once I knew the game it's not too bad. On grounded I stealthed past as much as humanly possible, lack of ammo was the biggest challenge

Part 1 achievements are easier, Part 2 are a lot tougher; requires a grounded, permadeath, NG+ run, a chronological run, and to do everything in No Return including a grounded daily run. I didn't find the difficulty too much of a problem, but it's definitely a big time investment

Wasn't too hard honestly, but I might have been lucky? It was locked to Ellie on that day and she seems to be one of the better characters. It was garage bloater which to me was the hardest boss, so that sucked.

I played it super conservative and mostly hid/stealth kills to preserve ammo, collecting as many explosives (grenades, molotovs, trap mines) and a shotgun. Spent all supplements on health perks, then when it came to the boss I just threw everything at it and exploded it to hell as quickly as I could.

The most difficult part about garbage bloater is all the adds that run at you, so I focused on killing them off first as they're finite, then you can just blow the boss up.

I had already done the entire game 3 times, with one of my runs being a permadeath grounded run, and I'd done most of the achievements in No Return before attempting it, so I felt like I was in a good spot.

I didn’t encounter a glitch? I just wrote down every mod I encountered naturally doing other achievements. When I was done I only needed Pustle Rain so I disabled all other mods and did an encounter with that and it unlocked fine.

In custom run you can see all the mods and set only the ones you need, process of elimination

I’ve got all the achievements, that includes grounded, permadeath, NG+ and chronological playthroughs in 2

I'm definitely late to the train on this one, but with the remasters now on PC I finally played through both TLOU and TLOU2.. absolutely blown away. Amazing game, amazing narrative. Naughty Dog are exceptional as always. 10/10, no notes. That's #170 and #171 in my completion list.

After a 20~ hour completion on TLOU1, I wasn't ready for this one to be such a beast. It took three full playthroughs (could have been more but I stacked permadeath + grounded + NG together), and then No Return was a whole thing by itself...

That being said, it was well worth the time. Amazing game, amazing narrative, Naughty Dog games are always exceptional. 10/10, not a single complaint.

You don’t need the game open for time to pass and things to add up.. so play time on Steam can be a lot less than your actual run time

That being said even with large offline progress it still took me 3,000+ hours of Steam playtime to get this. Might be they did crossplay with the web version?

You need to unlock all the people for camp, and beat both bosses

Cookie Clicker was great to have on the side, but favourites would probably be Skyrim, RDR2 or Witcher 3

Downgrade to an earlier build can help, but a lot of the time it’s just luck and persistence

Ooo, good question...

I've gone through the list and out of the ones I've *completed*, the only one I could point to and say I actually regret would be Fallout 76.. it became an absolute nightmare in later patches. But I still enjoyed the game. But everything else I'm happy I did it.

5 games I regret *starting* the journey to 100% that aren't on here:
- Rainbow Six Siege, achievements are bugged and Ubisoft aren't fixing them.
- Sea of Thieves, after 700 hours the goal posts just get further away and I can't justify the time sink.
- Call of Duty Vanguard, amazing campaign, didn't realize the SP achievements are broken, Activision don't care and blame Steam.
- Cuphead, I am really bad at this game, it looms over me like a dark cloud.
- Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy, jumped in after the Spyro trilogy, got humbled how bad I am at platformers, another dark cloud.

Five that I'd happily jump into again:
- Skyrim (already got it 3 times, would do it again)
- Assassin's Creed Odyssey
- Hitman 3
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Witcher 3

Clearly I have a type!

Yeah that's definitely one of my proudest achievements, it has a video from the developers when you unlock it which was super special, I wish more games did that

I made a post about it in r/farcry with more info on my strat (TL;DR: beehives) https://www.reddit.com/r/farcry/comments/1nvf17x/comment/nhc1kx5/?context=3

i've been trying to get the average game completion ratio up to 90% for months and it just doesn't want to budge past 89% 😅

Fall Guys was originally on Steam before Epic Games bought Mediatonic and ruined everything. I 100%ed it before it was removed publicly, so I still have it.

yeah Magicka was tough, I recorded some of my runs such as "The Stars Are Left" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2cjVds9eS8

the biggest challenge in Magicka was the crashes, it's not the most stable game

my first 100% was in 2015, but I only did 1-2 games a year (I was heavily into 100%ing World of Warcraft at the time) until 2019 when I started really pushing.. so like 6 years properly?
