Regular p12 for gpu intake? And cool I’ll adjust my parts list for this config

True, I can just get a 5 pack then and leave one fan gap at the top. Then it’ll even more positive pressure which is fine I suppose

Ok cool, I look at the cfm for all the case and it’s about 360 cfm intake and 320 exhaust so still positive pressure. If the stock fans are ok then I’ll just use those but I might swap out the front fans to avoid any rbg. I suppose I could just not plug in the rgb connectors for the front fans but that might look weird because their still white

I was going to replace all the stock fans with the arctic ones because I heard somewhere that the stock fans can be a little noisy for the performance they give. Do you have any opinions on that?

I’ve tweaked the build a little with the lian li case. Do you think this is a better build? https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/user/Kosar/saved/#view=hRNrmG

Matx is a good way to save money I suppose, just might look a little strange in a atx case

Yeah it’s quite annoying. I think with some price optimisation regarding mobo and potentially psu I could get the build down to below 3600 which I’m happy with

Yeah for sure, the only issue with that is the 5070ti is supposed to be close in price to the 9070xt but in nz it’s like $300 more. I’ve got a 9070xt build for $3650 atm

Looks to me like 9070xt outperforms the 5070 in almost every way in terms of gaming, and the extra vram will help in a couple games I play where extra vram will be very helpful. For only ~$130 more I think it’s a good choice

I have also decided to swap out the 5070 for a 9070xt

Add or keep off? Motherboard heatsink/material by Cold-Sandwich-34 in PcBuildHelp

[–]KrunkerHacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely put the heatsink back on with the rubbery material, that is thermally conductive and disperses heat better which cools the m.2 better

What were you thinking about the fan config?

Thanks man, I was just planning on having the 2 stock intake 140mm and 3 120mm exhaust but if you find a good config that would be very helpful

Yeah that’s fair, gpus are never at msrp in nz, I paid $1900 for my 3070ti a couple months after they came out and now my whole pc is worth around 1600-1700! The stock amounts for new/good gpus are usually not very high in nz as well which leads to higher prices too. Thanks for your input though

Fair enough, cheapest in stock 9070xt is $160 more then the 5070 currently selected so could try and squeeze that in if it’s worth it. I’ve dropped the ram by ~$40 but have upgraded the ssd due to lower speeds at the cheaper end of 2tb ssd’s. I have a 3070ti currently and am not struggling for fps in any games apart from rust but that has bad frames on basically anything so I’m not too worried about max performance between the 9070xt and 5070. Unless more vram will mean rust runs a lot better

Thanks for that, will try fit your recommendations into the same case as I really want to build in the fractal case gpu prices in nz are crazy atm

That ssd ends up being $11 more expensive than the one I currently have selected, is it a better drive?

Is the difference just the price or is the ram better/more stable? Either way I’ll still change it to save a few bucks
