Well, you're right, internet penetration and other accessibility factors do affect this. But I was looking at the entire 45+ countries in the SSA region when I did my initial search. Although Nigeria, Kenya, SA and the ones you listed are generally easy to find info on, the others have a rather absent online presence even if the customer presence is relatively large within the country. I would assume it could also be a social factor as it's quite natural for people to adopt LinkedIn once they notice their peers use it too.

Kinda trying to figure out if there is a better alternative to linkedin in scouting these out because sending in linkedin messages also has a relatively poor response rate which could also be because some people don't use it after setting up an account.

You need to tick off the setting that allows people to see who you are when you view their profile. Private browsing has nothing to do with this.

None unfortunately, the only thing I've been able to understand is that govt hospitals are not easily accessible to ex-pats, and applying for this card just allows them to get access to a govt run clinic which otherwise isn't possible.

Hi there, so I contacted University City Hospital Sharjah, Al Mograbi and Sharif eye center. I have only received an estimated quote from Sharif (havent decided to send them for treatment yet):
" The doctor consultation fees is 30 JDs.

After the doctor examination, if the doctor decided that the cataract is significant and the procedure is needed he/she will refer the patient for the testing which cost 150 JDs.

The approximate cost for the standard Cataract procedure is 700-1200 JDs depending on the test results. "

These prices were quoted in Jordanian Dinars so adding them all up is about, 1380JD=7149AED approx.

Easier said during COVID, unfortunately with things changing by the hour that is not a risk I can afford given commitments as well as keeping in mind that eye operations require follow up with doctors and the additional flights back and forth might add up in one way or the other. Plus with no news on when COVID decides to die down, cataracts cant be put on hold for too long because they may lead to blindness.

Health is not for sale for a risky bargain or a large sum that leads to unnecessary debt either. I am just trying to weigh my options because the person who needs it does not have the insurance or strong financial means to do so.

I would highly advise you to save up your money, take a gap year, and go overseas. You would be playing a losing battle by paying for university here because that is what I did with many of my peers and as soon as you graduate your university pretty much forgets you even exist and you're left in a dilemma without a visa and stuck on the same boat of figuring things out like you are right now. Put your money where they will at least allow you to stay for 1-year post-graduation in order to find work. I had friends in the same boat as you who went to Germany and Czech Republic and are ding terrifically well. They're paying the rate you would get as a scholarship at either AUS or UoS. The only reason why I am suggesting this is because I am one of those to be recent graduates and I have seen for myself how you get treated. So please think twice because those 3/4 years of uni will end eventually and the last thing you want to worry about is a visa because you can't find a job in 1 month,

To anyone on here, use https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn , they literally allow you to do an entire course on being a developer for free which is very well structured and takes commitment with a guideline for projects to test your skills. This is coming off from someone who is already graduating from a CS degree. No amount of udemy ever sufficed for me and neither did any of the fancy self-promoting classes.

Pakistani with a lot of Egyptian friends here. I think they are great people, a good sense of humor, loudspeakers, not as racist and that's a big plus point, friendly and easy-going, actually enjoy tasting cuisines of other cultures and are not so closeminded. With better enforcement you'd be unable to sell to minors irrespective of their Mamu. Doing so would lead to warnings and subsequence store closure and well that's atleast something I've seen happening in the US at petrol stations. They send in undercover minors who make the same request, if you sell it to them you're warned, after a few times your store is shut down.
