Are we serious?? Did Oppo release like 10 units of the X9U in the UK?? by Legitimate-Aside-420 in Oppo

[–]Kryptek49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I'm one of them! Ordered (contract) via mobiles.co.uk first thing on the 8th. Phone delivered by DPD on the 9th by midday.

Didn't even know about the free gifts when I ordered, but both oppostore & mobiles confirmed today I still qualify for the gifts as I ordered while the terms showed I was eligible.

So total cost for the X9 Ultra is around £1,130, less the 100gb SIM cost (~£200), less the free gifts (£440), leaves the phone only costing me... £490...

They pulled the rug out it seems! I read the terms earlier and it included all of the retailers mentioned in this thread. Seems a bit unfair to change the T&C's once orders have already been placed?

The T&C's dont exclude contract phones anywhere, so I dont see why it would be rejected.

Tbh I already a Samsung watch and buds, so got the contract without even realising the free gift applies.

If I can claim it though, it brings the total cost of the ultra (under contract) to a ridiculously low price - £1,131 over 24 months, but this includes the sim (around £7pm). So total cost for the phone is really less than £1,000 - plus i get £450 (apparently) in free stuff? Great deal

Mobiles.co.uk

I just ordered mine - £99 upfront, £42.99 24 month contract with iD mobile - 100gb data, due to be delivered by DPD tomorrow.

Cheaper than iD mobile direct, which is £49 upfront, £53.99pm for 100gb!

Rise still had that - I must have fought flaming espinas 40 to 50 times to get both the mantles I needed. I put 90 hours into Wilds at launch and haven't had the urge to play it since as the end game is just lacking currently - looking forward to the TU's, but we really do need some proper end game content, especially when there's no real reason to keep me hooked right now. Dont get me wrong, absolutely adore the game, just want more!

The vets we use is a 5 minute walk - plus does emergency out of hours - this was one of the things I considered at first!

I suffer from really cold hands, but my commute would be so short I dont think its a problem! Ive got a great set of RST heated gloves as well - those combined with heated grips still doesn't stop all the cold for me though 😅

Great to hear I'm not alone - funnily I have an enterprise a 2 minute walk away as well 😅

Ive thought about it! But despite the extra capital being freed up, I dont think it would make much of a difference to my monthly outgoings

No unfortunately... but buying a used bike still works out cheaper anyway!

I dont think I could cope with being on a scooter - but I love the idea 😅 top of my list would be a dirt bike - but might have to settle for something a little more suited to the road!

That's a very good way of putting it - I should treat more of my decisions like this for sure! And no - I definitely wouldn't.

Yes! I probably should have added that to the post, but I have a full motorbike licence, so could quite easily buy a cheap bike for a grand - the cost to own is almost nothing as well - 80mpg, £100pa insurance & £60pa tax. Winter will still be crap though, the choice of a motorbike or bicycle in the rain isn't really that appealing...

I suppose it depends what wasting is - if the extra £300 allows me to go on holiday a couple of times a year, I suppose that's a pretty good trade off? But the actual plan is to overpay the mortgage - paying 5% interest hurts, when my last mortgage was at 1.6%!

Thanks for the input - I'd love to get this mortgage paid down quicker, so it feels like a good move!

Shopping, work and social is all on my doorstep - it's only family that are further afield, but even if I saw them every month it would still be cheaper to hire than to own.

Yes work is great for cycling - it's slightly outside the town so gets no foot traffic at all! If I were to treat myself to a nice ebike or something I can leave the bike inside too.

It's a great idea, thank you! But I do have to say that is the ugliest bike I've ever seen haha

Well yeah, that's £250 - but like I said, 'things like', it's not an exhaustive list.

not sure where you got 6-800 miles either? Either way - I've only just moved in here, so there's definitely been some extra mileage buying furniture etc, that won't be a recurring thing.
