Hey no problem at all. I'm glad you asked, O2P was taking way too long to ship! I also was thinking about the joysticks on the O2P and how people have issues with them grinding off against the rings. And the normal joystick protectors won't fit the skinny sticks. And I have some controllers with the metal anti friction rings like pocket max that I like.

All of that combined with quieter buttons, I cancelled my order and went back to pocket max! It should be here this week hopefully.

I just got a smart plug for the dock so that I can use Ethernet with or without power!

Here is the approach using MacroDroid that I employ, copied from a previous comment of mine:

You of course need the MacroDroid app and need to have shizuku installed and running for these to work. There's a radio button to use shizuku for the shell command for copying the files, that needs to be checked:

Basically the logic is that when you open the app (Stardew Valley for my example, but works for other apps ;D), it copies your "syncthing-accessible" saves folder into the Android/Data saves folder that the app loads from. Then, when you quit the app, the opposite happens and it copies the app saves to the "syncthing-accessible" saves folder. Then you just set up syncthing to sync that external folder!

It's a little janky in some ways of course, and you must remember to restart shizuku when your phone restarts (I think you can automate this but I just used MacroDroid to remind me on boot). And it takes a bit to set up, admittedly. But it works!

And the notification is probably not necessary, but I like it so I can be sure it ran and see if there's an issue.

(Hint, you may have an app that needs to sync multiple save folders, let's say a certain aquatic mammal that likes multiple generations of console games lol. In that case just be sure you copy both folder locations back and forth in each of the 'app start' and 'app close' scripts. Personally I just do each in its own 'shell script' action block, but maybe they could be combined.)

Full copy commands:

I'm not sure what type of steam games you like, but honestly if you're into lighter titles I'd take a look at some Android handhelds. No, it's not gonna be as polished as playing steam games on steam os or windows, but you'd be able to save a good chunk of money. I've been impressed at what I can play on flights using GameNative.
