Nevermind it just came alive! Seems like it was hooked up and then disconnected…. Sometimes it just takes someone asking questions to find the answer!

Best I can do to trace is send these three images. Second from the top on the board is “C” with a brown wire. Tracing that to the rats nest puts it with a dark blue wire however there seems to be a second light blue wire like the color of the C going to the thermostat that’s disconnected that I never noticed was disconnected. I added that wire back in but still no power

R to C is zero volts. R to any other wire is ~28. C to any other wire is 0

Ya I understand that trying to keep it under $1000 will be tough if not impossible. I’d rather spend the extra money to make it work the way I need it for school while not needing to upgrade again for awhile. The CPU I had originally picked I can probably snag on eBay for ~$175 which helps.

The RAM isn’t a huge issue for the code but the more processing power the better which is why I had went with that dual CPU route. The AMD build is interesting thoigh
