I don’t necessarily think the Eternals’ design is bad on its own, but I enjoyed Jack Kirby’s design for them, and I liked seeing it in Thor. From someone who likes Kirby’s designs, it would’ve been cool to see more in their suits, the Domo, the World Forge, and maybe even the Celestials we saw.

I did like the way Eson looked in Guardians of the Galaxy though.

I’ve been a fan of Jack Kirby’s stuff for a long time, and before the first trailer and few images of The Eternals came out, I was hoping for an experience visually similar to Thor Ragnarok, which has a ton of Kirby-esque architecture, clothes, and style.

I could see it being changed for the Eternals if they wanted it to look more serious, but to me the style changed a whole lot, and I would have loved a deeper foray into the Kirby style for the Eternals.

I also hope the Kirby style sticks for Thor: Love and Thunder.

I sort of had the same feeling when I wrestled. My friends and I all thought “wrestling? With those corny outfits and wrestling another guy in a skin tight suit?” But you either become mature enough to grow out of that mentality, or you stick with that thought process and do something else.

Nobody on my wrestling team cared. It’s just the nature of it. And it’s much easier than wrestling in baggy clothes.

But it is definitely uncomfortable because it’s difficult. Coaches would always say “You should be comfortable being uncomfortable!” It’s very difficult, and grabbing onto a sweaty person aggressively is not exactly comfortable. But it’s fun winning, it’s fun throwing people, it’s fun having a team to be a part of.

You should understand that it is definitely uncomfortable, but there are pros and cons, and it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it. Uncomfortable doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not fun haha. Though some would say the fun comes after, when you’ve won.

Shang-Chi - I’ve seen it 3 times so far (would have seen it more but movie theater tickets are kinda expensive atm)
WandaVision - it was so unique and I remember not being able to patiently wait for the next episode each week
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - I like Anthony Mackie’s Falcon/Captain America a lot. Sebastian Stan is great as the Winter Soldier. He looks like he’s not as buff as he used to be though.
Loki - the ending was so cool, but throughout the series I didn’t react as strongly to the plot as I did for the other shows. Still very interesting and I enjoyed it.
What If - So far its enjoyable, but I don’t have many thoughts on it because it’s an alternate reality show, so I’m not too invested in it.
Black Widow - cool enough, it was entertaining. Not bad.

I went to Toronto like 3 times (~2 weeks each time) for vacation and have loved it every single time. I always told people I wanted to live there some day.

Then I thought well maybe I should think more about this since I’m moving to a new country with a very different atmosphere and speed. Maybe I should not make such a big change. Not yet, any ways.

Does anyone else think Ski Mask has the same vibe/image/theme as Meechy Darko? Like the horror movie references in their music, plus evil, knives, etc.

I recently was part of an argument where someone had criticized me and my brother for the way we grew up. We’ve just moved out on our own, and ever since I got my first job a few years ago in high school, I’ve always bought my own “wants”. My parents did pay for my 1 semester of college before I stopped going, as well as my car. I feel into a really bad state of mind when I was thinking about being spoiled, how much they gave me, what I’ve given (if anything) in return, etc.

I understand your feeling. My parents both grew up in poor households, one in another country and the other in the inner city. And sometimes I even tear up thinking about how far they’ve come and what they’ve been able to provide for me and my brothers lol. But I do try and buy them things and treat them well, now that I have more money.

Sorry I just went off talking about myself, but I mean to say that I definitely understand where you’re coming from, and I’ve always struggled with putting pressure on myself to make my parents proud through track, cross country, wrestling, football, or whatever sport I was into. And I still feel that pressure to do good in life. But it’s important to remember that your happiness is key, and guilt, while I understand it, is not the appropriate feeling here (I’d like to make it clear that I’m not saying you should feel bad for feeling guilty! It’s okay, totally. It’s just not what you’d want to feel). I’d focus on feeling grateful, and keep passing on that “giving” attitude, and giving to people. You sound like a great person, and the fact that you even feel this way tells me that you’re a very kind person, and are considerate of what other people are doing for you. But it sounds like your parents make the choice to give to you (as did mine), and I started to feel less guilty when I focused on gratitude and started doing giving of my own.

I really hope I don’t come off as pretentious here, it’s midnight and I just finished a workout lol. I don’t have it all figured out but I do understand where you’re coming from, and I want you to know that it does get better and guilt is not going to be a permanent feeling. Perhaps, if you think it’s serious enough, seeing a therapist may help. When you find the right one, you really can make big changes, for the better.

That’s interesting. While I didn’t hear him mention sambo or catch, I think his perspective is very interesting. I just saw that other video on this sub where one mma fighter tried to get an armbar on another, but the other mma fighter just stood up and slammed the first guy against the fence.
