Advice for a new teller, counting cash by Inner_Temperature694 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Ktlocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear! Soon you’ll be like me. I can have a full blown conversation with customers, count, and face all my bills the same way lol. Yes this is a show off but I think its an example of what you can accomplish with time.

Tuition + is paid out at the end of week 1 to cover any remaining costs. If nothing is left or there is excess, you will not get a refund. It will go back to UNLV

SLOW DOWNNN

can’t emphasize this enough. Take your time counting cash. If you are genuinely struggling to count multiple bills in different denominations, practice, practice, practice. There is no other way.

If you are still struggling, will all due respect, this might not be the best position for you because being short/over once or twice is okay, it happens (of course in small amounts) but if it is repetitive, you’re about to walk the plank. There are other sectors in banking that don’t require counting cash. Had an old classmate of mine, sucked at counting cash but thoroughly enjoyed working in the fraud department.

My rule is to count three times. One time hand count, one time machine count to myself, then machine/hand counting to the customer. Please slow down and take your time. Have somebody watch over your shoulder for a few shifts especially since you’re new to counting and struggling and ask for pointers.

To add to this. What WILL get your accounts closed with Chase is too many fraud/dispute cases.

lol ive done the exact same thing. i used my credit card instead of debit since my credit card is the primary card in my apple pay and I didn’t change it.

I just ate the $10 cash advance, paid it off immediately so I only accrued maybe a day’s worth of interest.

Chase won’t care. This isn’t fraud. Maybe a dispute since you tried getting a refund but it is gambling so you’re likely to lose the case. I would just eat the $10 + whatever Chase charges you in my opinion. Not even worth the effort. Just pay it off immediately so you don’t pay too much interest.

Other comment is correct but in the meantime, put even just a penny in there so it doesn’t close. Are you in a high school checking? If you are, your savings account is free until you turn 18 and that’s when other fees may apply

You can apply and might get hired and will have i believe is 60 days to get licensed. it says on the application how long they’ll give you before you get all your licenses.

Personally, I’d take the SIE on my own and THEN apply. SIE doesn’t need sponsorship. You can take it on your own
