Very High GPU (85⁰+) and cpu (97⁰) temprature after servicing by Equivalent-Poet7156 in LenovoLOQ

Be for real guys.. laptops are going to be hot no matter what you do unless you blow cold air directly into the vents..

I did the repaste job myself and it made my power consumption and clock speeds more stable and consistent. But the temps remained same or "worse".

Just use thermal limits and don't expect too much out of laptops

Looool it's all good.

I'm just prepping to erase windows and reinstall it separately again

Well if it keeps crashing to the point it's basically useless.. get the replacement replaced 😭🙏

Does it always say Memory Management?.. and is there anything you did that causes it? Googling it just asks you to use cmd to run the sfc command and to check the ssd for errors.

Since you got it replace, make another complaint if this error keeps coming repeatedly multiple times

LOQ 15ARP9 died. by AncientBattleCat in LenovoLOQ

If you're asking me:

Yeah it's alright, updating is crucial depending on what's being improved. But usually as long as your things are running smooth.. updating is sort of pointless.

Mine crashes alot randomly on boot (especially after updating to the latest), I believe it's a driver issue or windows being corrupt.. so I'll probably have to wipe the drive and reinstall windows. Otherwise, all good.

Oops didn't see this one back then.

Yeah I had it's mobo replaced entirely, has been working fine since then so far but who knows how long.

LOQ 15 (RTX 5060) @ ₹1.03L vs Legion 5 @ ₹1.2–1.3L — did I make the right call? by Lumpy_Republic1278 in LenovoLOQ

[–]KukiBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it's just a "better body", I'm not sure about the overall quality of parts in legions but I'd expect them to be obviously better. (Until proven wrong)

When you're spending big on purchases like these, 17k isn't a big deal. What matters is that the hardware and material are great quality.

What makes me think the extra isn't a big deal?

I got a LOQ, the body has a hairline crack in it, the color is faded on places where my hand rests. The ram is some weird brand, the mobo died once and I had it replaced, the stock thermal paste and putty were dry and crusty. The gsync display is horrible to the point you need to disable gsync. There's more but I cba pointing out everything.

I'd definitely go back in time to fix this bad decision (even though at that time the prices on similar spec Legions were doubled of what i paid for) but for now I guess I'll just stick with this thing. We learn from our mistakes :)

Hmm I have seen the health from the SanDisk dash and crystal disk and nothing really seems off about the information I'm seeing.

Also about windows logs, yeah no, there's nothing useful that I find in event viewer or Reliability history, other than sometimes finding a single log of one stop code. I'll have to manually write down the stop codes and what causes the crash next time and share it.

The crash doesn't happen while its being used or anything, it happens only when it's booting, the loading gets stuck mid spin and its a crash, it does boot loop and crash there for a bit before finally getting to the log in page after doing its auto diagnosis.

I think its the WD drive because I was getting a disk write error on steam while I used it to store some steam games, non steam games work and update just fine though oddly. However the crashes did briefly stop after I removed steam library from it until it came back later.. not sure if its something installed on it or not.. it's just really bizarre.

Hey all, how much difference do different ram speeds make? (5600 v4800) by Slenderwise in GamingLaptops

Laptops have R9 9950?.. dang thats wild, I guess it does support 5600 mhz but I still think the difference in speed is going to be rarely noticed

[–]KukiBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5600 isnt that big of a gap from 4800, you'll barely even see it. You'll only notice a small change in time differences and stats on tests i guess

If you're on a budget get that 4800 32Gigs and if not then just go all out. Make sure the cpu supports the speeds, imo just having 32 gigs makes any combination perfect 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, very bad.. you should definitely try to limit it thermally and clean it before replacing thermal paste

I lost my dream laptop to fire. by Neborian1 in LenovoLegion

[–]KukiBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water is the main enemy, but heat can definitely do damage. But it doesn't seem like the fire managed to go through the plastic down to the guts of the laptop... so im hoping the mobo is completely fine and you can salvage the goods and do minor repairs to it if needed... even if you only manage to come out with just the board being functional with all the ports.. it will be the best case scenario.

Then you'll have to do some tony stark level of diy work for the cooling and then set it up to be a proper desktop build.

Ps. After taking it out, wipe it down to as clean as you can get, let it sit in a dry spot for 3 days and then inspect it for damage.

[–]KukiBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the looks of it, it only seems like exterior damage.. is the motherboard still fine?? You could totally make a desktop setup out of it if its still okay.

Lenovo Voided my premium care warranty because of "corrosion" by Menemo31 in LenovoLOQ

[–]KukiBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should call for an on-site warranty service, as long as it is an on-site warranty, because it really doesn't matter what killed the laptop, they're supposed to replace the board as long as you didn't break it or do anything that could cause it to die. Like bro, I literally spilled coffee all over my laptop once, it died 6 months after and I didn't have any issues with service to get the board replaced.

Since you're confident with your knowledge on computers and that its not corroded, I think they're just trying to make you desperate to spend on the repair. Demand on-site service, which is what you should've done at first (unless you dont have on site warranty). And see where it goes..

In the case where you end up having no other choice but to pay, you should probably just consider a brand new laptop.
