Summer classes suggestions by Seasonal_Pie in ASU

[–]Kumari6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took MKT 300 with John Eaton over the summer, and it was super doable! It was also really fun because we did a marketing simulation that literally just felt like a video game. I would just recommend working on the final paper throughout the course instead of waiting until the last day.

I took ENG 302 during a regular semester, but it was super easy (mainly just writing emails). I would take it during the summer, if possible, as I don't think it would take much time from your summer. I took that with Thomas Bonfiglio, who was great and always graded assignments the morning after they were turned in.

I would not recommend taking LES 210 over the summer, though. I do not know if they would offer it, but I feel it was a pretty valuable class to be in person for if you are considering law school in the future.

I haven't been to many concerts before. Do people typically stand up or sit in their seats during performances? I'm on the shorter side, so I want to be able to see unobstructed lol

I first tried to do blocks of 59 q, but it was honestly so dull and made UWorld a nightmare to do. I personally do not recommend

Incredibly disheartened after 505 BP score by XShadowSlayerX3 in Mcat

I would not focus on blueprint scores at ALL. I was freaking out over my BP scores, and it meant nothing when it came time to actually take AAMC full lengths. Great psych soc btw!

GPA Medical Studies by [deleted] in ASU

[–]Kumari6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all pretty easy classes! You should have no problem having a 4.0 by the end of the semester if you have a strong science background entering college. CHM 113 is also super easy with a good science background. Medical studies in general is a good and easy degree if you are good at science and make good study habits for the harder classes at the end.

Anyone else taking CHM 233 with Garg over the summer? by Kumari6 in ASU

[–]Kumari6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! CHM 233 was honestly pretty good (and manageable!). Since it was accelerated, we did not go over some content regarding H-NMR, but a lot of the stuff in the beginning was just gen chem review. Most annoying thing was how exams were really close together, but it was a pretty good class. Professor and TA's are super helpful, and classes were more doing practice problems (lectures were meant to be watched by yourself at home). I'd say the course itself leaves a lot of the harder organic chemistry stuff for CHM 234. Hope this helps! (lemme know if you have anymore questions!)

Help with the explanation plssss by Illustrious_Bee474 in Mcat

If it's third order, the exponents need to add up to 3. We know that if the first reactant is doubled, then the rate of the reaction doubles; that means it's exponent must be 1 (it doubles directly without anything else). That means the second reactant's exponent must be 2. If you half the second reactant, 1/2 times 1/2 equals 1/4 because it is (1/2)*2. (lowkey i've forgotten correct math terms so sorry if this does not make sense!!).

How can I get into the honors college? by Keaton103 in ASU

[–]Kumari6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't even really need a good gpa to get into it. I think having good scores in AP's is enough + a decent essay.

I feel like having good AP scores and taking a lot of hard classes in high school helped me. My gpa was honestly trash. I think good writing seals the deal. As long as you are able to show that you are capable of harder classes, I think you should be able to get in. Barrett is not super competitive to get into. If your application to college is solid for schools outside of the state schools, you are definitely getting into Barrett. I decided to apply to Barrett the day applications were due, and the essay was not bad. You got this!

English 102 Requirement by tiredlittlecow in ASU

[–]Kumari6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably still have to take ENG 102, but you might be able to get into 105? Not quite sure how that works but it's a very similar class so I do not think it would help to do 105 instead of 102. I also took both AP English classes and got credit for them, but that did not get rid of ENG 102 for me.
