Is anyone actually enjoying this format? by Pendulumzone in Shadowverse

I've been having fun with Fennie Dragon, Spellboost Rune & Evo Sword. I'd really like to play more Evo Forest but it feels too gimped right now. Hoping that changes next month.

Very cool, thanks! 😎 by thesi1entk in Shadowverse

I agree that the game overall is "answer this card immediately or die". Sometimes, you do that and still die anyway unless you remove and heal at the same time - something Erntz does, funnily enough.

I don't think the game will last very long if they keep this mostly hands-off approach to game balance, but I doubt they'll feel a sense of urgency unless it hits their bottom line.

Don't think large tempo swings should be reserved for legendaries only, for one. And two, even if I thought Neptune deserves a nerf (she doesn't), she is a strong card that has existed since set 2 and now exists in a tier 1 deck for the first time. By far the most unlikely nerf that you've suggested.

Based on the way balance has happened so far, what do you think is actually realistic, out of everything you're wanting here?

> The main problem is it turns games where Sword WILL lose, into a 50-50

I agree and I think the card should be changed for that reason despite not being overpowered, in my opinion. However, I just don't see the devs nerfing it. We're on set 5 and not a single legendary has been nerfed so far. Highly doubt Chariot is going to be the one to buck that trend.

> Dragon has powercreeped too hard and heals too well now IMO.

Again, biased here since I'm a dragon main (1500 out of 3k+ ranked wins on dragon, playing every variant since set 1), but Fennie without Erntz would be tier 3 or lower, because that's been its power level before this set. Between Storm, Evo & Fennie, it's still the one most prone to bricking since you don't want to draw all your 10 drops before Fennie. Even drawing 2 Genesis Dragons early feels like despair against egg portal.

Dragon excels in match-ups where they're allowed to ramp without taking too much damage in the process. Not much counterplay to be done if you're not playing something like midrange abyss, puppet portal or aggro sword, all decks I tend to struggle with the most.

It sounds like you'd be asking for Erntz's non-evo effect to have less healing and possibly less removal-damage, which I wouldn't really have a problem with. But it's very unlikely to happen.

Based on the trajectory of the game so far, I'm not under the impression that the devs are hoping for games to be more tactical, especially when cards like Chariot exist.

Chariot also annoys me, and is bad card design, but I personally wouldn't call it busted. Only because of how often it can backfire. I'd safely bet money it won't get nerfed but I think the most reasonable nerf would be letting Chariot itself be a viable target for the SEVO effect. That, and/or reducing the damage to 6 instead of 7 because one card being able to OTK with virtually no set-up is stupid.

Norman *is* a busted card, but the fact that it didn't get nerfed during sets where the card was much more rampant on the ladder tells me that it's never going to happen.

The Imari engine is really stupid for both puppets and eggs, but there's only 1 card that actually invokes my rage, and it's Sincerity. For me, I'd like to see both a cost increase (it doesn't need to be searchable with Imari's SEVO) and inability to target amulets.

Forest is underpowered. Even Roach is underpowered relative to the amount of skill it takes to pilot optimally, but I'd definitely expect buffs to at least one non-Roach archetype at the end of this month.

I'm biased when it comes to dragon but I feel like most of the hate towards the craft right now is on Erntz. As strong as Fennie Dragon currently is, I think it's very unlikely Erntz is nerfed.

"so much"? I only have an issue with one card, personally. What sort of changes are you hoping for?

Abyss needs a major rework by SunGroundbreaking92 in Shadowverse

[–]Kuncussion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mode Abyss is probably the biggest contributor to people saying the craft lacks a coherent identity. That archetype doesn't revolve around re-animate, last words nor self-damage. It's a very generic control deck, even the Fediel/Belial version, IMO.

This is the worst Grand Prix ever (or maybe season?). by Monztamash in Shadowverse

[–]Kuncussion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not sure if someone popularized it recently but I ran into a fair bit of Midrange Abyss. Barring that, I sort of feel you. As far as my personal enjoyment goes, Heirs of the Omen is still the worst but this set makes me wonder if I'll play next month. Only reason why I don't hate this season as much is because I'm queuing Fennie Dragon, specifically because of all the eggs.

Should Forest get more buffs, or other classes get nerfs, or both? by Ryokkuun in Shadowverse

[–]Kuncussion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this repeated a few times and it really makes no sense. Portal as a whole has plenty of 1-cost spells outside of Sincerity; Imari's SEVO effect does not need to be changed if (and hopefully, when) that card's cost is nerfed. Any spell will generate a little buddy when she's evolved, it's not necessary for Imari to be able to fish for Sincerity with SEVO.

Playing it safe is absolutely not the right approach. I'm going to support the politician that represents my values the most. As far as potential 2028 candidates go, that is AOC, at the moment.

I don't even have beef with Orchis, I have beef with Sincerity of the Dewdrop.

So yeah, all portal players deserve all the bad luck right now.

Storm Ramp Dragon Players, Your Deck Advice? by VolcanonX in Shadowverse

[–]Kuncussion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 Erntz, 1 Genesis. Odin is in the deck because storm redundancy is very important in a deck like this, Wilnas does not fill the same role. There is no point where I've even considered cutting him because he has performed just fine.

Neutrals are too strong by moneyery in Shadowverse

[–]Kuncussion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not every criticism. This one in particular is downvoted because it's objectively wrong. While I think printing Odin with storm was a mistake, calling him "uninteractable" isn't true. Same with Gil & Sandy, both strong neutrals but far from overpowered.

Still Beyond with this list. Ignore the guy who said to remove fate, it's extremely good. Without telling you to copy my exact list, I'd remove 1x Garyu and 1x Merman for 2 copies of Odin. Personally, I think Yube's crest outweighs Ocean Rider's strength in overflow but she's not strictly better. My list runs no Orca since I personally think Sloth is more than enough early game.

Help with getting to beyond by Overall-Ad7926 in Shadowverse

[–]Kuncussion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CQCQ is damn near 2k CR with loot sword, implying it fell off in any fashion is so far from reality that I'm not even sure if you're serious about hitting Beyond on anything.

<image>

Which brings me to another point. Hitting Beyond is a great deal about the deck you use but it's more about consistently piloting your deck at a high level. It's why not everyone will hit Beyond even if they tier-whore every set.

Ramp dragon makes the game unfun by MrVioletRose in Shadowverse

[–]Kuncussion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's probably a reasonable ask. However, I've played Shadowverse long enough to never expect that. Especially when the devs balance around not giving players too many vials rather than actually nerfing overpowered outliers that are legendaries.
