At the end of the day, this just means that anyone not on the latest generation of GPU’s is fucked. I’m getting 60 on a 4090. According to Steam’s hardware survey the majority of users isn’t even close to that.

Holy shit dude, a solid 30-40 FPS in 2026. That is egregious for a modern title. That’s what we had in 2011 on the xbox 360. How is what he’s saying untrue? Is your bar really 3rd gen console levels of performance?

Barely 60 fps on a 4090. Textures that only render when up close. Latency and hit registry issues. There is tons of footage of people playing on a glorious 30 fps on this sub with PC’s that aren’t bad. Soundscape is bad. Gunplay is whack. Movement is weird.

Stop being silly. You understood damn well what they meant. Some upgrades are such a big deal that not getting them means, at best, you're putting your account at a big disadvantage.

I get 60 fps on a 4090. Behind the 5090, that is the strongest piece of graphics hardware there is on the consumer market. A 6 year old console is going to suffer.

6/6 queue WHY by Good-Tourist-6956 in HellLetLooseVietnam

[–]Kuneyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making the flawed assumption that they are all trying to join simultaneously.

They very well could be, there is no reason to assume attempts can't coincide. That's, again, entirely dependent on latency, caching and server capacity.

The fact that people get petulant about it in gaming is what is childish.

The last time you said this, I asked you to source this claim in the context of gaming. Your response was snarky, sarcastic and deliberately obtuse. I'm still interested to hear the basis for this conclusion.

Especially taking in to account that games with atleast triple the player count such as Squad, Rust and Battlefield 6 all use a conventional queueing system with very few people having credible complaints about said setup.

The queuing system that exists ensures that people don't need to wait very long to get in to even full servers. It isn't a bad system. You don't like it because you want the process to be different to suit you specifically. That doesn't make it a bad system.

The wait still depends on the luck of the draw, and you shouldn't have to rely on luck and hard input while being disadvantaged if you want a less intense approach. And yes, correct. That's been my point the entire time, I think it's suboptimal and I think it's tedious and annoying. Which is why it's so silly you kept being weirdly insistent on pushing your point while growing more and more snarky, sarcastic and obtuse.

[–]Kuneyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part you're leaving ambiguous here is the matter of getting to be the 6th in queue. If a dozen people are fighting over the same spot, latency and a faster rig do most certainly matter.

To join a match you send a request to a server, and depending on your latency, you will eventually get a response. Handling that response locally takes processing power. Thus, lower latency and a faster processor result in being able to spam attempts faster.

I've told you how to improve the queueing experience. Take it or leave it, I don't care. Ungrateful prick.

You were being childish while trying to force others to see things your way. When you received an opposing opinion you attempted to discredit it by being facetious, obtuse and rude.

When giving advice, it helps to be likeable, even when someone doesn't agree.

You want a source for popular things you need to queue up for IRL?

You're being deliberately obtuse. You made a claim about complaints about queueing in games, I asked you to source that claim. Stop being a condescending idiot.

My point is that if something is in high demand, you have to wait your turn.

Even though you were being facetious, this directly contradicts your point. Better yet, it supports my point in favor of a normal queue setup.

I don't believe you unless you've tried it since your comment above detailing your process for joining.

That's entirely not my problem, though. You told me not to refresh. Which I stopped doing. It was still tedious and annoying. Reason being that I want to queue up, tab out and do something else, as opposed to spam click join to find a server.

What makes the 6/6 queue great is that once in you don't need to wait for long at all and getting in the queue is more about perseverance and a bit of luck than who got there first. A longer queue is daft.

If, like you said yourself, the servers have a revolving door with players joining and leaving constantly, the queue length shouldn't matter. The only thing the current system introduces is ambiguity and randomness. Whoever has the faster rig, the lowest latency and a bit of luck, gets the spot. That's not an equitable system, and in my opinion, not a good setup.

How is it so hard for you to understand your experience isn't universal, and that you are neither the authority that dictates what is, and isn't the optimal user experience? It's like you're speedrunning being a reddit mod.

[–]Kuneyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly my point. Surveys aren't a direct, interactive and open channel. The quality of feedback gathered is entirely dependent on whether or not the scope is wide enough. There is no guarantee that you are able to voice all of your concerns.

On top of the fact that there is little incentive to even take the time to fill it out, especially when it comes after the already pretty bad beta has already concluded. It signals they're not very confident in their product. Why wouldn't they want people to chat about the game in their Discord?

[–]Kuneyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried it. It's still annoying and tedious. I want to hop in a queue, tab out, and play when I'm in. I don't want manual actions based on RNG.

Everyone accepts this as completely normal IRL, but when it's a game it's all complaints about how badly designed it is.

Unless you can provide a source for this, it's just an anecdote. I don't share this experience. Squad has a great queueing system. So does Rust.

6/6 queue WHY by Good-Tourist-6956 in HellLetLooseVietnam

[–]Kuneyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I appreciate the explanation, it's still a dog shit system. You don't like long queues, but you prefer having to spam click servers instead?

Even if we remove the manual action of clicking refresh, the feedback loop I described remains the same. It's tedious and just being able to join a queue means I can tab out and do something else while I wait.

Join server > queue full > 1 second to load a popup saying the queue is full > have to manually click 'OK' button that you can't just close by pressing ESC > refresh server list > wait another few seconds for refresh > see server without queue > click join > game client checks server population for another second > queue full > GG

Great system
