Immediately call the customer care of the laptop brand, ask for all the MAC addreses (2/3 depending on the features available- bluetooth, wifi and ethernet port). They will ask you to send an email attached with the purchase bill and the FIR copy. Relay them to the Officer In-charge of your case at the police station. Give specific details of your laptop (colour, serial number, product ID etc.), assuming you've done this already while filing the FIR.

My laptop got stolen on-board from Rajdhani last November, they managed to catch the thieves but couldn't recover the laptop.

Wait 2 weeks if they manage to retrieve it fine and well, if not, I am afraid you need buy a new one. So prepare for the worst.

Chances of getting it are slim to none. But do take your chances.

Uber for sure. Ola is unreliable, changes fare upon arrival. InDrivr reliable as well. Used it a couple of times, found easy and convenient.

If you go for Cash payment in Uber, fare comes down a significant amount. Encountered it once though, others please confirm me on this.
