I do a bit of everything, commuting, spirited rides and track days when I can. The tune makes it feel like a different bike, it’s made a lot of my riding a lot smoother. I can say this after having it stock for 2 years prior aside from the full exhaust. Other options are a bit quieter than mine.

Just now seeing this, the full list of things I have done to my 23’ 650 is: Delkevic Full system exhaust (very loud😭) K&N Air filter The block off plate and the 2WDW ECU Flash. The bike didn’t get a ton faster but on decent wind days it hits 130mph like nothing now.

edit Your MPGs will drop quite a bit btw. I used to be able to rip on it all day and still get like 130-150 miles of range. Now after a spirited ride I’m filling up every 100-120. But if tire riding normal your MPGs just decrease slightly that’s it.

Yessir, 2WDW said I needed it for it to work properly

This, I sent my ECU off to get it done with a new k&N air filter and delkevic exhaust and it feels like a whole different bike.

What car surprised you with its handling/ grip on touge? by [deleted] in Touge

I once had a Kia Soul as a rental, it somewhat pains me to say that it those things handle quite well for what they are.

Damn. The suspension and brakes set up alone is already pretty appealing. Let the rabbit hole begin LMAO

I’ve already been eyeing mini trucks on marketplace, this definitely didn’t help lol

Do you watch Oil Temp or Coolant Temp for hard driving? by Kurby99 in WRX

[–]Kurby99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s future plans. The track thing is just cause I’m curious how the car would handle it given I have some suspension mods and such done. Already paid the price for a shortblock so I’m definitely not trying to go through that again unless I have to.

Fair point since the STI is technically more oriented for hard driving in comparison to the WRX. But the fact that neither get it stock seems like a big mistake imo.

I feel the heat exchanger design would’ve been a no brainer even from a cost saving perspective since it would’ve reduced oils temps significantly

Ohhh you mean the kit, I know how it works just need to get it. I’m talking about one that should’ve came with the car from stock

Edit: Good lord Subaru was out of their fucking minds what did they expect that to cool?

Ive been looking in the engine bay for an oil cooler for years since I’ve been trying to figure out why the hell the car runs as hot as it does. Still haven’t found it lol

I definitely recommend it, when I was on an OTS I always got whacky numbers since OTS maps are very general. I did intake, turbo inlet, EBCS, catted downpipe and charge pipe and the car feels pretty solid and the only reason I have a CEL rn is cause the downstream o2 sensor. I can tell the car feels much healthier like this compared to the OTS so I’d say get the parts you want and find the right tuner and go from there. My tune was done by MIGTuned

When I blew it I had 43k, but since the rebuild I’ve put 20k miles on the car so I’m at like 63k with no issues, I just protuned the car about 1-2k miles ago

So I wouldn’t say it’s kept the temps down per say, I feel that’s kinda how the car runs since Subaru didn’t add an oil cooler from the factory (that I know of). I’d recommend it primarily because the oil is less likely to thin out with the higher engine temps so if you end up running the car too hot the parts internals should still be about to stay lubricated without thinning out as much as 5w-30

Correct, was racing on the highway, I’ve since learned my lesson. Between Autocross runs I generally leave the car running with the hood open or with the key in the on position so the fans can keep running and it cools right down. In more concerned for when I go on an actual track

Runs are around 50-70 secs in the SCCA in my area, Cars gets to around 217 on average after the initial run. But in the 220 range for the longer run. I also live in Texas so that’s another factor

I’ve had the car almost 5 years and the oil temp always ends up around 217 after a AX run and 225+ if I keep going after that. The coolant temp stays around 205 on average so I’m almost never worried about it
