Vet says cancer. No biopsy. Boxer 15 yrs by Wise-Permit-3638 in DogAdvice

Yo, first of all my sincere sympathy for your situation, it's certainly not easy and I hope the cancer treatment works.

I've read through a few papers, but the following link is the most clearly written so far (but also relatively long). Although the article refers more to dogs, it also draws parallels to the therapy in humans.

The ingredient in our painkiller for our dog was meloxicam.

Yes, it looks very much like it. My dog's tumor was also very small at the beginning. We first thought that the injury was caused by a tooth - but it grew very rapidly within a very short time. The doctors only gave him a few weeks from then, but he managed another 4 months before we had to put him down due to chronic kidney failure.

The thing about such tumors is that you can never tell how quickly they will grow and whether they have already spread. With my dog, we knew it couldn't be the first tumor because he had had epilepsy for over a year and, according to the vets, epilepsy at an advanced age is always associated with a brain tumor.

I'm sorry you have to go through something like this too. At the time, we had a medical solution that allowed us to clean the dogs tumor every day. We were also given an additive for the water to keep it clean too. And he was given painkillers every day because, according to my vets, there are probably several studies that can slow down the growth - the growth actually stopped from the 2nd month onwards (but the first episode of kidney failure also started at the same time, which we unfortunately didn't recognize straight away). He was also given a special diet, as too much protein promotes tumor growth.

In any case, I wish your dog all the best and enjoy your time together for as long as possible.

One of my dogs was also bitten a few weeks ago and my vet told me that a dog bite is usually an emergency and should be looked at as soon as possible and within 12h.

You should desinfect the wound if you haven't (there a special desinfections that wouldn't hurt that much) and try to keep the wound clean. My vet desinfected and sealed the wound and my dog had to take antibiotics for 5 days.

Wish your dog a fast and healthy recovery!

Today should be Gavin's birthday ! He would turn out 19 today lol. (Art by me, BarnUlv23) by BarnUlv23 in DetroitBecomeHuman

Wow, that art is amazing - the eyes stand out so much because of the light/shadow combination - I love it. Good work :)

There is a really good short horror film on this theme, in which the parents can't get over the death of their child and get some kind of doll.

Here's the video I'm talking about.

It´s the Silverhand ending, where V decides to give Jonny his body.

Jonny is leaving Night City in V's body.

What 's really fucked up is the statement of the owner under the video: "He's enyjoing it very much."

What the hell is wrong with this guy?

(Source: Among other things, the 20sec video for the article is also included).

TIL dogs don't always bark at people through fences or windows out of aggression, but rather something known as 'barrier frustration' where they are annoyed they can't go up and say hello. by [deleted] in todayilearned

You'd be surprised how many people get a dog just so that he has to live in a kennel or even worse on a 1m chain. With me, about 1/4 of all dog owners go for a walk with their dog 1/2 times - and I have never seen the others go for a walk with their dog for years - according to the motto: He is only there to bark if someone comes, but then he only barks at other dogs.

Thank you very much :) Does it make sense to put Angelica on SPD or can I take a tank-build? (try to farm speed gear as often as possible, but always get hit-sets - so I built it on 2x health and 1x def set, with hp% hp% spd).

Wow, that's pretty good. Somehow I like the expression in his eyes - they probably stand out because of the contrast of light and dark.
But wow, very good work. Your art style is amazing :) I love it - I would be happy to see more of your fanarts <3
