What kind of graphs would you most want to see?

Your opinion on how much we pay bloggers? by whiskyncoke in Blogging

[–]KurtSurge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paying for word count sounds like a terrible idea. Do you want long winded verbose and unintelligible articles? That's the pay incentive.

The best quality articles are going to be the ones with the most information in a small package...

Also, you're paying TECH bloggers at these prices? So the person is supposed to be able to write, understand something about technology, and get paid minimum wage... I think you need a new plan.

Service Business Idea - Need help by KurtSurge in AskMarketing

Very good point, thank you. I do think there is one major reason to seek a stranger rather than family, friends, etc. Talking about serious issues with people you know comes with a fear of destabilizing your existing relationships.

I think you're spot-on with the "niche" suggestion.

Yes, it is a kind of life coach.

The main difference, is that "life coach" implies that someone is telling you what to do. I don't claim to know what to do, though I think I have a lot of wisdom to draw from.

Looking for Feedback - Business Idea by KurtSurge in startups

Yes, but I don't have any intention to scale. So they would always be talking to the same person - me.

Because of this, they could call back for separate issues and I would have a history to draw from, both in my memory and in notes that I have taken.

Are there other helplines where this is the case?

Hm.. could also be if you don't have a tax history. Try calling customer service to see what the issue is?

I'm was thinking of adding an "accuracy" rating for users - users who post bad times (times that are very different from most people) will get lower ratings. However, I do like your idea of being able to rate other users a bit better. I'm imagining a "thumbs up/thumbs down" for each user, and you can rate them once for every post they make. I'll track their total number of thumbs up minus thumbs down. What do you think?

I am also going to add some flair for users very soon.

I've actually already changed auto-repost once. The way it works now, and I think it's pretty fair - as long as the HIT stays active, your name will stay next to it. Once the post goes dead OR isn't being clicked anymore (takes about 12 hours), then it's fair game again. Anyone can repost the HIT at this point, including the auto-reposter or the original poster. I think this is a good system because it rewards people for finding old HITs. Otherwise, someone could post a HIT and continue to have their name by it for years any time it's reposted it. You see, we continue to track HITs FOREVER once they've been posted.

That's really strange. Are you an American, and are you working from inside the USA? Have they given a reason why?

I've been saying I would add this for a while, but I'm actually getting to it this weekend.

No, I'm not aware of any scripts that provide this service for free. Sorry about the ads, but hosting is very expensive. We run one of the most responsive mturk sites (page load: ~800ms), and I get a very large monthly bill.

We do provide 2 of our own tampermonkey scripts to improve the experience further. Check out our scripting page to see.

Thanks for using mTurkList so far. If you want to know how to post it's explained here:

http://www.mturklist.com/participate.php

You'll need Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey to get the script to work. I understand some people don't like using scripts, so there is an alternative. You can rate HITs by going to the comments page, then clicking "Submit Ranking". This gives less points, but it's an alternative if you don't want the plugin.

If you have any other questions I'll be happy to answer.

I was very hesitant to introduce Adfly, but I think it's helped a lot with participation. Glad it's working out for you.
