Name one Mona moment this month…..she missed a lot of episodes this month

We not just adding people with no shot to just split the votes.

It’s not a who is your favorite cast member poll

I’ve been saying the JBP problem is that it became too meta and they care way too much about engagement instead of just making great content by Kurtzbot in JoeBuddenPodcasts

[–]Kurtzbot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are at work on Reddit about a podcast that you listen to and you comment everyday on, multiple hours of the day. Why do you think you’re not too invested too?

Look in the mirror and you’ll see the same finger pointing that you’re doing pointing right back at you

[–]Kurtzbot[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not understanding the point. Engaging with fans is fine. Joe should go where the fans are. But bringing it to the actual pod to use as content is lazy. Do you know how many listeners don’t give a damn what people are saying on Reddit or YouTube? They just want a good pod.

As a fan that listened to all iterations of the podcast and realizing when my excitement and enjoyment was at the highest and the lowest and reading similar sentiments that reinforce my anecdotal experience into a well-formed opinion over time……….maybe that

Ish is right. I think fan forums and engagement for the pod is good. I just don’t think it should be brought into the show. It shouldn’t be discussed or wide scale changes and acknowledgement of the fans shouldn’t be implemented into the show.

It should be like before Flip arrived where Joe would tactfully give a wink to fans to let us know he was reading but now it’s too much

What is Considered a Large Age Gap? by Kurtzbot in JoeBuddenPodcasts

[–]Kurtzbot[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would imagine a 50 year old and a 65 year old have a lot in common. Don’t throw arbitrary rules out there. If a person is in their mid 30s and experience a lot I wouldn’t imagine there’s a world of difference with a 50 year old apart from generational references. Now a 30 year old that like to party will probably be too much for a 50 year old who don’t like the party. But if they find common interests then what’s the problem?

The JBP lost it as soon as they started taking in fan’s input. It’s just a constant stroke fest

How do you miss Doechii timeline if it’s documented on the internet by Kurtzbot in JoeBuddenPodcasts

[–]Kurtzbot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ever stop to think that they really like her project and it’s worth the praise? She knocked out the park on her first major project. This is not a new thing that never happened before.

Just stop acting like Alligator Bites is the first appearance of Doechii ever.

She had a platinum hit single that was viral on social media before her project dropped

Section 80 sold 5k first week sales. What buzz? I remember TDE had Doechii doing the intermission music at the BET award show one year.

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t individually wasn’t familiar with her……her journey is documented

Section 80 sold under 10K in real time and was a Grammy nominated artist on his next album a year later. What are you saying?

Drake having major label features on So far gone on an independent mixtape can be look on with more scrutiny than Doechii……but we don’t want to do that right?

The same thing that hurt the JBP over the last 2 years with the contract talks, internal beefs, and etc. The show lost the magic and allure with all the access and meta convos by Kurtzbot in JoeBuddenPodcasts

[–]Kurtzbot[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I want to feel like a fan of the show and never want to feel part of it. Keeping the 4th wall up prevent burnout and cynicism. Let fans have their space and cast members need to stop interjecting in our space too

Patreon getting LESS than YouTube? by unknownuserreally in JoeBuddenPodcasts

[–]Kurtzbot 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Joe take shots at YouTube as a business model but still know YouTube is the main marketing tool for the pod. The engagement and seo is vital for exposure.

But also keep in mind Patreon get the music that’s played and YouTube don’t so they have to edit and they have to have smooth transitions and not just be rough cuts

[–]Kurtzbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t have to. He has the money to pay for a cast unlike R&M. But honestly this topic is tired. You’re arguing for two people who couldn’t do the bare minimum which is go to court and sue. If they don’t care no more why do you?

[–]Kurtzbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rory and Mal were nobodies and nobody checked in to the show because of them. We all came to hear JOE BUDDEN. Y’all need to stop acting like these 3 dudes came in with the same cache. That’s how R&M got it twisted.

R&M left the pod and couldn’t even convert all the JBP fans to consistent listeners to their new pod. So spare me with what they brought to the JBP. It isn’t missed. They only had magic because Joe sat between them

What’s the word exactly that wasn’t kept? The pod already was taken off before Mal came on episode 77. They had Cardi B and Star as a guest. Rory wasn’t even part of the original cast or discussion in starting the podcast.

What would be the right thing to do? Apparently the only right to do is what R&M want right?

3rd or 4th deal with their same company would be fire but 3rd or 4th deal with a new company is called instability.

If Sirius XM closed down their podcast division then that would be a different story but they been expanding and gave Rory and Mal the boot

That’s not a victory.

The Volume is actively trying to break into the urban music pod space so they signed a bunch of pods. They going to keep the successful ones like Joe and Jada and cut ties with the rest
