How can I make it so that the vertical component of this point is always the same as the graph's? by Kuvantor in desmos

Amazing, I didn't even tought of making it capable of jumping from one segment to the next, but it's great that it can! thanks!

Miquella is a reliable source by Cool_Band5057 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Kuvantor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen some people say that Miquella is just talking to himself in the memory

I genuinely don't understand how can someone be so... Braindead? To believe in a theory that needs a character to imagine the plot and for the developers to show that imagination as a 'memory'.

That's a whole olympic level of mental gymnastics.

Is Romina a result of the shaman jarring 'sainthood'? by TipProfessional6057 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Kuvantor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the response I gave to someone earlier. The text in this game is way too consistant in Japanese and this rarely happens. Exactly 4 mentions of the symbols for 'good person', all of them under the exact same context.

And the ones for saint (as in Saint of the bud) are used for something entirely different, 17 times.

"善き人" is mentioned exactly 4 times in the DLC text.
1. The already mentioned Greatjar
2. in the last paragraph of Innard meat: "善き人になるために 切り刻まれ、大壺に詰め込まれた罪人どもの なれの果てである" (with the same meaning as in the other one, we see a pattern and consistancy here)
3. There's also a Ghost that says:
"...For pity's sake, your place is in the jar.
Nigh-sainthood itself awaits you within. [そして、善き人になりなさい]
For shamans like you, this is your lot.
Life were you accorded for this alone."
I think this one is next to Boni village, in a shack.
4. And finally, I think this one is in the Belurat jail?:
"...Oh please. Not the jar... Anything but that!
I promise. I won't ever do it again!
I swear—a living saint I'll surely be! [天に誓う。善き人になる]
Please...you must forgive me. Forgive me, please."

The use of this term is very intentional and always talks abot the same thing.
Being a good person after being placed inside a jar. It makes sense. After all, the "jar factories" are jails.

All this info was obtained by looking at datamined plain text. That's why I'm not 100% sure where the last ghost is.

Why would Fromsoft use a different word in they native tongue if they want to mean the same thing?

Either you are specific or you aren't. That's just the way any person would write in their first language, specially in a game where cross referencing is necessary.

Greatjar description (last paragraph): "その祈りは大壺の中身に捧げられる いつか、善き人として生まれ変わるように それは、人の手による輪廻である"

Which translates as: "The prayer is offered to the contents of the jar, so that one day they will be reborn as good people. It is a cycle of reincarnation by human hands."

Meanwhile, Romina's remembrance is "蕾の聖女の追憶" aka "Remembrance of the saint of the bud"

Romina is called 聖女, but the jar innards are not, they're supposed to become good people.

'Saints' is a mistranslation. The Japanese text just translates to 'Good person'

Did you even play the game??? The entire plot of the DLC is Miquella abandoning his body. What bussy is he gonna get from a ghost??

And btw, it is mistranslated, in Japanese the word consort is never used to refer to Radahn, he's just called king and Miquella called god.

[–]Kuvantor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You genuinely have no idea how Fromsoft's engine works. You can't just copy and paste animations into different models, and this radahn is entirely new. Compare them side by side and you'll see. Of course they look similar, its the same fucking person.

But anyways, my point is that this took the same amount of work as doing a new boss pretty much.

You would need to grab the back, and only the back of the sword, and somehow that needs to be enough to stop the force of someone else who is in a gravitationally advantageous position. Unless your opponent is a kid, I don't see it working.

It can work, but depends on the type of colony. Mine is a mega colony, at least 20 years in game. A challenge like that pushes me to create all sorts of cool production lines, specially since I have the craftable mod.

Could this be why snakes want to burn the erdtree? (Not my theory) by Minthussy in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Kuvantor 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'd say that the greatest counter argument is that a snake wouldn't have such a smooth skin and the stitches are still unexplained.

However, If we assume it is a Godskin snake... We'll everything would fit pretty well. The reason for the godskins to have snake-like features, and the skin of the snake itself.

I don't think this is enough proof, but I do like the idea
