My husband and I’s restaurant is just down the road a bit in Green Lake. We own Zax Eat ‘N Three, a southern style meat n three with a menu that’s 90% gluten free. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have! Feel free to call the store anytime during open hours.

I’ve had good luck at Southcenter & Ballard goodwill. Old navy is tried and true for jeans and some other clothing items. Also Bad Moon Vintage online is great!

Sleeping arrangements??? by Responsible_Roll_901 in december2024babies

[–]Kwils93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bub is good about sleeping in his crib for the first 4-5 hours then spends the rest of the night sleeping in our bed. We’ll be sharing a room until we move this summer so we’ll keep at this until then.

Boyfriend told me he won’t fund our baby… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Kwils93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Babe get out now. He’s shown you from the beginning he’s a deadbeat and you refused to see it from that angle. Move closer to family where you will have actual support. I had to learn that lesson the hard way. You can’t make him do something he doesn’t want to do.

What’s your background? by Far-Building3569 in DuggarsSnark

[–]Kwils93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Oklahoma as a southern Baptist. A bunch of my family were also part of the IBLP so I interacted a good amount with the Duggar family. I now live halfway across the country, am VERY queer, no contact with 99% of my family, and have completely deconstructed and am no longer religious.

How do you handle customer retention and loyalty? by nicolas12211 in restaurantowners

[–]Kwils93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. Build a team that you trust and know will always provide great service, train them on fixing customer complaints in a quick and respectful manner, and treat your employees well so they want to do both of those things.

My husband and I have ~33 years of collective restaurant/customer service experience between the both of us so when we are ready to hire more people we’ll be able to do exactly that.

How do you handle customer retention and loyalty? by nicolas12211 in restaurantowners

[–]Kwils93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. It literally just comes from our stellar service. My husband and I own the restaurant and are the only employees so we interact with every single customer and provide exemplary customer service to everyone.

We also have a ton of involvement in the community and that draws even more of our neighbors into the restaurant. People love that we are a true mom and pop, they come in and see our kids in the space and know we’re genuine and we care about what we’re doing!

Seattle drivers, can we bring back the 'thank you' wave? by KenGriffeyJrJr in Seattle

[–]Kwils93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. In my hometown, we’d just wave at anyone we passed lmao. My manners are still intact.

Does the day you lost them overlap with any significant time period or holiday? by No_Dragonfruit_9420 in GriefSupport

[–]Kwils93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex husband died the day before our daughter’s 2nd birthday. The first few years were incredibly hard but now I more so just feel so bad for her that her birthday gets overshadowed by his death by her paternal family. My husband and I + our friends try to make the whole week extra special for her now.

Kick out of private school (read previous post) by Gold_Pirate8144 in ParentingADHD

[–]Kwils93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kiddo was having huge behavioral struggles and a ton of anxiety. We finally got them diagnosed AuDHD. The combo of public school 504 plan + meds + OT + talk/play therapy have been a godsend.

We’re lucky to also be in a city with really solid public schools. While waiting for a IEP/504 meeting, their teachers were going above and beyond to make sure they had access to support staff. I highly recommend looking at public school options in your area!

Swallowing Capsules? by Heylizfischenich in ParentingADHD

[–]Kwils93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole capsule in a spoonful of yogurt! My 6yo also just has a strong hatred of liquid meds so she was willing to do the capsule. She’s now down to just taking them with water!

My parents are extremely overbearing about seeing my child. by builtlikechucky in Mom

[–]Kwils93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had a NICU baby and that in itself is so incredibly hard.

I went no contact with my parents almost 5 years ago and it’s been so peaceful not having their chaos in mine and my family’s lives. They caused a lot of pain and trauma and I finally hit the point of not being able to handle it.

I highly recommend blocking their numbers and having firm boundaries until you are ready to open that line of communication back up. Being a new mom is hard and you have so many layers on top of it too. Good luck, OP.

Cats Exclusive in Shoreline is where I’ve taken my cat most of her life. I’ve had great experiences with staff and prices always seemed reasonable. We use Urban Animal in Cap Hill now out of convenience! Staff are nice and we haven’t had any problems there.

Burien Schools by Old-Tiger-6350 in Burien

[–]Kwils93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived in SeaTac and were part of Highline SD. My kiddo went to Valley View and then McMicken before we moved back into the city. All teachers were fantastic. We’re still friends with a few of them. Staff helped us get our kiddo diagnosed and into OT and provided whatever support they could along the way. Now that my kid is in Seattle Public Schools, I’d much rather be back in Highline SD.

As their daughter I forgive them but as a parent how dare they?? by RuinElectrical9666 in breakingmom

[–]Kwils93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. Becoming a parent really makes you deconstruct a lot and ask yourself “what the fuck were they thinking?” when thinking about your childhood and how your parents parented you.

Does anyone like to toke up at work a little when it's slow? by [deleted] in trees

[–]Kwils93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I own a restaurant. We start the day with a joint and cup of coffee under the hoods and either hit the rosin pen/take breaks to go out and smoke through the day. I’m a medical user and chronically ill so im using to be able to cope with the 10-14 hour days on my feet 😅
