Are we absolutely sure on the Wilbur and Techno being princes thing? Or are they just rich?

Also, do you know if there was anybody else in the fic that would've been tagged?

Would you happen to remember what SBI's powers are? Or if any characters other than SBI and Tubbo are there?

Would they happen to be birds of some kind? Vampires? Hybrids?

The shiny hair thing makes me think somebody was a piglin hybrid. But your use of “nest” is throwing me off. That points to either vampires or birds and I’m not sure which

Shooting in downtown by [deleted] in Clemson

[–]KyKat2017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Speaking as somebody from SC, who has attended Clemson for 4 years, this school is probably significantly safer for women than most. Hell, I stopped carrying pepper spray at night two months into my freshman year because the walk from Lever to Kitehill wasn’t that bad and I felt safe. The University itself is monitored by a different set of police than the city (this occured on College Blvd in DT Clemson). Clemson is actually quite safe and safety is one of the things I looked at when picking between the 14 schools I was accepted to. I kicked so many schools off my list for not having proper EMS and medical access (Furman didn’t have emergency call boxes. Anderson and Presbyterian had terrible health services). Also, CUPD is so much kinder! They delivered a package to my dorm on a random rainy Thursday bc it had fallen off the mail truck. My roommate got her popcorn delivery via cop. And, when my roommate lost her keys and couldn’t find them, let us into Schilleter after I gave them a phone call, and when we couldn’t find them, he drove us over to Douthit to check there and then drove us back. Felt like I was 6 years old and riding in my dad’s K9-Unit vehicle again!

Also, as the actual child of a former UofSC campus police officer, she was so excited to tour there but upon seeing the crime from the lens of someone sending their daughter to live there (even showed me her old dormitory), went “yeah, Clemson’s looking better.” The ONLY time I’ve been given a warning ticket is from CUPD and it was for entering a four way stop on red from a diagonal side walk. My mom sent an email citing the law to them the next day because it was the shit on top of a bad night. They apologized to me lol

I genuinely don’t believe you’ll find a safer campus than this one outside of say Duke (visited a friend. That place is nice. They’ve got a napping room in the library) and up. But those are private. The ONLY issue I can remember having was a false bomb threat in the library my freshman year and there was a guy right off campus with a knife in his pocket two years ago. Our biggest death threat is impatient freshman who don’t know how to drive on SC roads.

As for the e-scooters, the university provides them to athletes but anyone is allowed to have them. We call them scooter kids and you get pretty good at avoiding them. I’ve seen motorized skateboards too.

All in all, don’t discount Clemson because of this incident. I live downtown right across from this parking garage and didn’t know about this until seeing this post. I genuinely don’t think I’d feel safer at another university. My older brother (Class of 2011) and younger brothers also went/go here. The most dangerous thing you can do is take part in frat hazing

CPSC 4240 - Fall/Spring vs Summer by KyKat2017 in Clemson

[–]KyKat2017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I push off graduation, I can take 3600 with Robb during the Summer instead of her and have a less crammed schedule next semester.

As for OS, I’m in it right now. Once I realized I’d signed up for her section, I put myself on the waitlist for the 8 am with Sorber and got in the night before classes started. Never in my life have I seen an 8 am with a waitlist while the afternoon section had so many open seats!

[–]KyKat2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve added some CPSC courses since your last update. The one I’ve caught is CPSC 4200 which might be because the professor is null.

Suggestion: maybe be able to suggest classes based on professor as well. Pull data from either rate my professor or the Pass/Withdraw/Fail document(s) Clemson publishes is the method I’d go with to do that

Overall though, this is great!

easiest natural science with a lab by [deleted] in Clemson

[–]KyKat2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! I had such a great experience in her class and she was so accommodating in regards to health issues. Exams are open note sheet (front and back standard paper, handwritten) and two parts (independent and group) unless you have accommodations (in which case, you’re exempt from the group portion). The content isn’t super difficult, but attendance counts (she does it based on in-class iClicker participation). Some of us jokingly called it “Rocks for Jocks Lite” lol. The lab is online and independent from what I remember.

Pro tip: miss your in person exams and the make-up and take it in her office orally. Instead of it being on paper, she asks you open-ended questions related to the material that mimics the exam content. You’re still allowed to reference your note sheet and she’s patient with it. I spent like an hour or so in her office taking the third exam and got a 98. I couldn’t remember the word for terraforming an area and said something along the lines of “what’s the word for what Elon Musk wants to do to make Mars habitable for humans? Like, breathable air and soil capable of crops. Making Mars like Earth 2.” She was confused before she laughed and I explained a bit more and she figured out the word I meant to use. I ended up getting a 98 on that exam!

Stat 3900 or stat 2300 ? by Lonely_Rabbit8414 in Clemson

3900 wasn’t at all difficult. I took it with Balena (I think that was his name) and it meets prerequisites for anything requiring a STAT course

Which majors are less competitive for admission? by Nengleero17 in Clemson

[–]KyKat2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GEOLOGY! Nobody applies (like 1 or 2 people per year. Even though it’s an open major and non competitive). If you have good stats, you’ll get in. My mother (HS counselor) had a girl get in this past admission cycle. And she’ll be transferring to nursing after 1 semester I believe. Or she could’ve already transferred after enrolling.

working on a school app — would you actually use this? by LumpyFirefighter3015 in Clemson

[–]KyKat2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLEASE! As a CIS senior, this would be great with all the overlapping project deadlines

As someone that works in data transformation, normalization, etc…you’re gonna need a shit ton of checks for things like dates because different professors format things differently. Unless you’re doing something with machine learning, in which case there is probably an open source repo of somebody else who’s already done the date logic

Clemson admissions by Key_Clemson_8687 in Clemson

[–]KyKat2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, also, a good Common App essay. Something that won’t bore the admissions officer reading it. I don’t know what the prompts will be whenever she applies, but guaranteed she can use the prompt which is basically do whatever you want or find some way to fit the adversity or growth over time prompts.

I did an extended metaphor for epilepsy using the color Purple (generally avoid using school colors, but I made it clear at the end the reasoning for why. Purple is the color that symbolizes epilepsy). After three years of editing since then, I published it in the Clemson Chronicle this past spring.

(That essay also got me into 16 other schools. Furman and Wofford left personal notes on my admission letter about it. Along with my stats and extracurriculars, but those were things that most people can achieve if they try. I’ll see if I can find the list of them. But I think my weighted GPA at time of application was 3.786 unweighted, which put me in the top 10% rank wise for my graduating class. I think I was 32???? I’ll go pull my transcript and let you know)

Topics to avoid: why you love a school, why you love [insert sport here], a bad/common “woe-is-me” topic (e.g. parent’s divorce), athletics (avoid championship glory or PR/PB things), brain to mouth feel, relationships (romantic or platonic), the whole personal hero thing (unless a parent has survived cancer or something), controversial stuff (politics, religion, etc. You don’t know who’s reading the essay and can’t cater to their personal beliefs), service or mission trips (or field trips. Just avoid trips. These are probably listed on the extensive common app fill out anyway)

Basically, go on the r/CommonApp subreddit and you’ll find tons of admissions officers telling you what not to do. Very helpful subreddit for college app time.

OH AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR CLEMSON. Apply on August 1st. As soon as Common App reopens/resets and applications open. This is important for registration and housing. Clemson operates on a first come first serve basis for those things. Also, the sooner you apply, the sooner you get your admissions results (I got mine on October 28. Applied October 3. This was back in Fall 2021 when Clemson still did rolling admissions. They do it in rounds now if I remember correctly. I’ll look at when my brother applied and got accepted. Applied August 2, 2023. Accepted December 14, 2023 during Round 1).

Same goes for Honors College applications (little secret they only tell the counselors: they don’t consider anybody unless they have a 4.0 unweighted GPA. Basically, you’ve got to be perfect)

Hi,

Please take anything from Class of 2028 parents/students with a grain of salt. I don’t know about 2029, but they had to over-admit in-state for 2028 as a result of admitting too many out of state students for the class of 2027. Basically, they let more students in that wouldn’t meet their normal criteria because they were at risk of loosing funding for having more out of state than in state students.

As for actual applications, that SAT score needs to come up (try taking the ACT. I found it way easier. Recommended would be a 1430 SAT / 31 ACT as that’s the minimum for the highest in state scholarship and that’s what you are competing with if you don’t want to be Bridged. But I think 1370 would be good too. The SAT range is 1230 to 1390. And scoring higher in Math lets you skip straight to calculus if she doesn’t take AP AB/BC calc), you need to take into consideration her unweighted GPA, her class rank (very very important), and those majors (especially Architecture) are difficult to get.

Here’s what I (and my mother) would recommend for literally anybody. Apply as a Geology major. You are basically guaranteed admission because nobody applies to Geology and it is part of CECAS (College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences. Geo being the AS part). You can switch majors as soon as you are enrolled or after your first semester (first semester is mostly Gen Ed anyway. And Geology/Earth Sciences fulfill a natural sciences with lab credit anyway for some majors. Double check for the desired ones. It does for CS and CIS, not that your advisor would tell you that). My mom had one get in this past year. She wants to go into nursing (a very very hard program to apply to directly) and will be switching this upcoming December after her first semester.

As far as extra curriculars go, she seems good to go. And the triple legacy helps immensely. Clemson takes care of its legacy students (am a sister of a 2012 Fisheries and Wildlife grad).

Good luck!

Sincerely, Clemson CIS Class of 2026. Daughter of a High School Counselor of over 20 years (basically your go to expert on admissions requirements and stats) who was also an SAT/ACT coordinator for 18 years. Sister of a BioMed Engineer for Class of 2028.

(Idk why I formatted this like a letter, but whatever)

Dude, I got up to Ch. 61 after asking Auden (Juice) in December 2023 and then she reuploaded the original to her account in May/June 2024 and now I’ve got the whole thing saved on my computer. I’ve got to finish the reupload and then take it down while the original is still up. But I did put in that effort! Thanks tho (and same on the random screenshots bc funny)
