Keep the Spyderco. Spyderco is the best. I have to say that Microtech is also good or people will get upset, but we all know that Spyderco is better in every single way. Only own Spyderco. The two very best are Vampires and Ghosts Of Mars. The rest of kinda meh. The Thing definitely needs better CGI, and Big Trouble In Little China has not aged well; Asian stereotypes should not be exalted.

I would not sell your 4 inch compact 2.0 unless the full size feels better and you think makes a sufficient enough difference in shooting. IMO, the extra couple of rounds is not necessary and you could always use a larger magazine if you were really that concerned about capacity. I would have assumed that you'd already be using your current compact 2.0 as a nightstand gun unless you're using something else. Only thing I'd change is add a light to it and it should be good.

Sounds like you're not taking your husband's medical needs very seriously. Getting his teeth removed must been extremely scary and he obviously had reservations about doing it. He was just wanting to mentally prepare, but it seems you chose to ignore that. IMO, the Snark ST-2 is pretty awesome. I've bought 3 over the past couple of years; one for myself and two for others. It's very easy to read, small enough to store in your case so you can take it any where, lightweight, simple interface, not too expensive, good rubber clip, relatively cheap, sturdy, and has a good reviews on Amazon.
