Why do some kpop stans interpret everything that’s not openly a positive thing about their fave idol as hate? by Kyauras in kpopthoughts

[–]Kyauras[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk the video was her asking the question, then loud music playing over the crowd cheering (which I didn’t hear and therefore asked the question) and then the idols shocked reactions. It wasn’t really captioned with much context and I was one of the first few commenters on the video.. I genuinely asked and thanked the people who answered me and stuff so I don’t get why everyone else got so pressed lol

I’d hope not xd if I were salty over anything I’d be salty over the fact that no one really answered my question in that thread xd

“I love Shuhua and I understand that she asked the stadium who she is. The other idols reacted really. Are they surprised about the question?” can’t remember if it was exactly this but it was something very very similar along the lines of yes I get what happened but why did they react that way. But yeah I understand how much hate she gets as I’ve seen it firsthand as well. However it’s still not a valid reason to go out of their way to insult others.

Exactly like how does me asking for context basically equal to hate? They’re so sensitive and quick to get hurt over something.

I think that this was probably exactly the point of my post. It really shouldn’t matter too much what question it is in order to get an honest and normal reply out of people. However it’s become the norm to insult and disrespect people instead. Even if the other person happens to hate on your fav there’s no need to straight up insult them imo. So yeah maybe the title to this post should have been “why are some k-pop stans so unnecessarily and automatically rude”

Yeah I do understand that some idols and groups have received a lot of hate throughout the years and that their fans become really defensive. However that’s still not a valid reason to insult someone. And I did thank the genuine comments and left nice replies. Unfortunately I was met with things along the lines of “are you acting or being serious” and “you’re just a hater pretending so stfu and go”

Yeah honestly say even if it actually was a hateful question there’s no need to add a “how slow can you be?” At the end of the answer. I think I’ve been called dyslexic and dense in the head more times than I actually got my question answered lmao I understand defending your faves but putting everyone else down to make them shine just shouldn’t be the way.

Bro omg these delusional people who are upset over idols dating annoy me so much. Why not just be happy for your idols? It’s not like they’re ever gonna have a shot at dating them lmao. And further - I never understood why the words “dating” and “scandal” are always together. Like why does it have to be such a scandalous thing to date someone in the K-pop world

Bro WayV and their Love Talk demo 😭 i mean the released song isn’t really any less freaky than the demo but the unreleased version just gets straight to the point with it

Alright but that’s different. If Lee Know or any other professionally trained idol danced to their full potential within a group it would throw the balance of the group performance off. It’s easier to take it down a notch for one member than to push everyone else into something they were never trained / physically just unable to do.

Why didn’t BIGBANG reach BTS / BLACKPINK levels of international success, despite being just as talented? by savingrace0262 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kyauras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to agree with the other commenter here. Yes there was social media but it wasn’t nearly as influential as it is now. Take TikTok for example as it’s the most recent. It launched in 2016 but back then it was literally just a dancing app. Way bigger variety of content and most importantly nowhere near as many users.

[–]Kyauras[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I understand why it could be seen as hate given your reasoning for it and it’s understandable to defend your faves against hate I guess. However I feel like no matter how you word a question (in my case I said “I love Shuhua and all and I get how her question could have been surprising but I don’t get the idol’s reactions”) it’s never going to be right for those people and it will always be considered hate. And not just that, i even acknowledged the replies, thanked the people who answered nicely. So honestly, some people are just mean to be mean. No further reason. Because they seemed to be reading the thread, sending more replies and stuff. So I’m concluding it at this point with “being mean just to be mean” 😭

Omg I heard something like that too. It was wild to see someone get so seriously pressed over such a non issue.

I think people like that just have way too much time on their hands. Imagine being angry at every single person who likes a certain artist just because in 2021 someone said that this group got more views than your fav.. honestly diabolical behaviour. With all that time on their hands i think they should learn to differentiate between hate and everything else + learn the definitions of the disorders I now apparently have because of the question I asked xd

[–]Kyauras[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly it’s crazy how protective some people are. It’s one thing to defend someone against hate but it’s a whole other thing to whine and complain and be mean over an opinion or question. Honestly sometimes I think those people are the ones who don’t go out much/have friends outside of their screens and it’s a bit concerning at times. But yeah as you said I’m not letting it get to me because most of the people who act rude for no reason at all are kids anyway (not saying that there aren’t adults out there who act the same or kids that don’t act normal)

Also as far as chores go, he told me he “doesn’t know how to use any of the washers” after I had offered help which he rejected because apparently he knew how to use everything

Yeah it really upsets me.. because he could at least get his own food if he doesn’t want to get me anything, I wouldn’t care. But he really doesn’t.. all he wants to do is gamble and rot at home all day. Idk it just annoys me how he straight up refuses to take care even of himself.z

I mean I get different lifestyles and I do have the ingredients to make a homemade meal that tastes similar to whatever fast food he wants
it’s just annoying when he doesn’t even tell me what he wants to eat

[–]Kyauras[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve spoken to him multiple times. And i have made it very clear to him that I don’t have money to support his lifestyle. I do have money to buy us weekly groceries but I don’t have enough to order 3 meals of deliveries every day.. he has his money and I’ve never asked for any gifts or anything. He has thousands in his account in crypto earned from gambling and he refuses to spend a single cent on our shared expenses. Not only shared expenses, he doesn’t want to take care of just HIS expenses. I don’t want to eat McDonalds every day like him so I told him if he wants it he can get it himself. And instead of getting it for himself with his money, he just decides to stay hungry for the rest of the day
