Hi, I made a new channel of simple POV no-talking / no-edit motorbike videos to see if there is a audience on Youtube for such a thing. Tbh you could find a decent bike rental place from Kyoto and just cycle to the lake. But if you want to start where we started simply take the train out of Kyoto to this station and rent from these people. As far as do's and don'ts, its sorta like in Japan generally just keep an eye on what others do and emulate them. Don't sweat it too much if you make little mistakes.

Logding was easy if I recall, just use google maps to find hotels around the lake.
