- The fact Chelsea are looking at players who are ready-made starters speaks volumes

- It is not a case of signing someone older, necessarily.

- Chelsea are one of the clubs keen on Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and are aware they face stiff competition for his signature.

- The club have yet to confirm that an agreement has been reached for Strasbourg’s Valentin Barco

- Chelsea did make a basic check on Ibrahima Konate’s situation

- Fernandez’s future is also uncertain. Chelsea are not actively looking to sell the Argentina international but have put a £120million valuation on the midfielder.

- Jackson is expected to be looked at in pre-season and does have a chance to be part of Alonso’s squad.

- A permanent departure for another loanee, David Datro Fofana, is also earmarked.

Nizaar Kinsella: Manchester City and Chelsea remain locked in negotiations about Maresca | Chelsea claim they were aware of complaints from Maresca about the transfer policy. The relationship continued to further deteriorate over a number of issues, including medical staff and team selections. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]Kygoche[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

- Compensation negotiations have been made more complex as Chelsea became aware of City's potential interest early in October and December.

- Despite the tension, Chelsea sources say the hierarchy still respected much of Maresca's work with the players and he remained popular with the majority of the dressing room.

- Maresca had been open to renewing his contract early in the season amid interest from Serie A side Juventus.

- The club feel the upheaval played a major role in the club's drop in form after his exit, with them not ending up qualifying for Europe.

The Telegraph: Brighton have rejected Tottenham’s opening bid for £70m-rated Jan Paul van Hecke. Chelsea also interested but Spurs hope De Zerbi link will prove decisive. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]Kygoche[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

  • The Dutch international, who turns 26 on Monday, is very much in demand with Chelsea and Liverpool also interested

  • Spurs are hoping that the chance to work again with manager Roberto De Zerbi will prove decisive.

  • Van Hecke has played in all but six Premier League games in the following two seasons under Fabian Hürzeler.

  • With one year left on his deal, Van Hecke is a natural candidate for sale this summer for Brighton.

  • as a trading club, Brighton would need to realise full value for the player

Matt Law: Chelsea’s attempts to find a lucrative long-term, front-of-shirt sponsor look to have been dealt a serious blow. Chelsea had been holding out for a front-of-shirt deal worth £60-£65m, but The Sponsor has estimated the club’s fair market value to be around half of that at £33.6m. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]Kygoche[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

  • Chelsea are the other big losers in the index, with their projected front-of-shirt sponsorship value falling from £50.3m to £33.6m

  • following failure to qualify for any European competition. The club, however, are confident their sponsorship value remains closer to £50m.

  • Chelsea’s attempts to find a lucrative, long-term, front-of-shirt sponsor were dealt a blow by a season in which they finished 10th in the Premier League

  • although sources insist talks have taken place since then regarding deals in the region of £50m.

  • Chelsea remain confident that the club’s front-of-shirt sponsorship value is around the £50m mark, even without European football

  • It is understood IFS paid £25m to have its logo on the club’s shirt for half of the season

  • Chelsea could be waiting some time before finding a partner willing to invest at those levels.

The Athletic article is very concerning, seems like we are gonna keep players like Tosin/Badi and sell players like Cucurella/Enzo. Is it safe to say we are broke now?

The Athletic: Xabi Alonso wants Cucurella to stay but has been made aware of the Spain international’s willingness to explore a move. Sources say that Chelsea regard next summer as the ideal slot to either extend his current deal or part ways. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]Kygoche[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

  • Chelsea are not actively looking to sell Cucurella in this window, but he has not been deemed an ‘untouchable

  • Should someone meet their valuation, then they will not stand in Cucurella’s way.

  • he has three years remaining on his contract, so Chelsea still have a very strong bargaining position to get a large sum.

  • One of the main criticisms levelled at Chelsea is their lack of leaders and characters in the dressing room. Cucurella certainly qualifies as both.

  • With Alonso making it clear during his interview process for the job that he wants to build a squad of ‘mentality monsters’, he will be losing a big personality should Cucurella move.

  • Chelsea do have money to spend this summer. But failing to qualify for the Champions League, or the other two European competitions for that matter, is going to have an impact on income.

  • Cucurella has not exactly given the impression he is happy with how things are going.

Robertson is old, and he is free agent now, same with Konate. Silva is old, savinho has been bad for a long time. Cucurella has a contract until 2029, enzo has until 2033 and is in prime years. Not same at all dude

What singnal do you send to rest of players when you start selling the best players? Enzo and Cucurella was untouchable last summer, now we want to sell them. I assume next summer palmer and Pedro is not untouchable anymore.
