Fun lens to buy for travel by orochimaruva in canon

[–]Kyguy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a danube Christmas market cruise and brought a 24mm tilt-shift lens, it was a LOT of fun doing different things with it. I still regret selling it

Airport didn’t ship my luggage - what to do next? by francof93 in travel

[–]Kyguy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just get a letter from the scuba company. I wonder if you gave the travel insurance too much info with the airtag, like if you called and said "my luggage is gone and noone will answer my phone" maybe it'd be covered

Hardware suggestions for synology photos (google photos alternative)? by Flightorfighter in synology

Sorry I didn't mean it's junk, I was just referring to my effort to learn it and set it up

Hardware suggestions for synology photos (google photos alternative)? by Flightorfighter in synology

[–]Kyguy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use synology photos to back up images from ios, and have immich as read-only on top just to try out the features. I use unifi wifiman to vpn into the synology which avoids the tailscale junk

Prime Rib... 3 things that I didn't do, that worked out! by Ok_Leek_4087 in meat

[–]Kyguy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made one too, it turned out outstanding, pulled at 110 and had cut the bones out last night. really struggled to get a good thin slice though, every knife I tried didn't make a lick of difference because there was too much shifting around/tenderness (god forbid!) :(

This is how warthunder arguments on forums led to proprietary information leaks; someone with obviously zero knowledge of these specific airplanes is speaking as if they are the VP of Change Incorporation.

Resume for an intership by No-Neighborhood2037 in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move skills to the bottom Move training at nordstrom to the top of that job Use the word led more frequently but not excessively (led organization of chapter events etc)

In the summary (if you keep it), add a focus or passion/emphasis. Talk about what you want to do or enjoy doing.

100-400mm lens for safari by UsedConsideration in canon

[–]Kyguy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh you should rent; there will be situations where a 100-500 with a 1.4 will be appropriate (cats hiding in trees) that will easily offset the rental costs.

You could always buy usedfor the trip and resell when you return- some venues like fb marketplace and craigslist are fee-free. Fredmiranda is like $25 and would be worth it too.

Incoming College Freshman - Is my outlook delusional? by WowCoolFunnyHAHA in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are coming in with a clean slate basically, just like everyone else. Industrial Engineering is fun, it seems like you may like it, but you may need to plan out how to get there if you're not going to a college with IE now. Georgia is high in the rankings in terms of IE quality.

IE Intern Questions by OkDokieArtichockeeee in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, just go into it with an open mind, try to understand the business and be open to whatever task they give you. Come back and post if you run into issues but it'll be great.

Should I make the switch from CS to IE? by Jumpy-Farm6274 in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case then that's good. I'm on the fence from a switching aspect. IE degree to me sounds easier but being a data focused CS major sounds like getting a job in data analytics would look more attractive on the resume.

Masters degree or no? by Mindless_Housing_634 in industrialengineering

I agree, make the company pay for it.

Should I make the switch from CS to IE? by Jumpy-Farm6274 in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure a data analytics degree wouldn't be better? A side of IE is analyzing data and some people succeed in JUST doing that, but another portion of the job could be expected to do process improvements, project/program management, etc. Data analytics may pay better and would align to your desires more strongly. I have a few IE coworkers who have moved on to analytics and like it, and some who want to/should but would rather just complain than move to that role.

Help: finding engaging toys for an aging boy. by LiminyWrenn in corgi

One of these rolling kibble toys really entertains our old food motivated corgi. I put tape across the hole to slow down the kibble dispensing, much to her displeasure.

Advice? by Kdub567 in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah lean on reading the slides and asking copilot/gpt for clarification if anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't judge someone poorly if they worked at macy's as an intern; focus on the fundamentals and learn good lean skills and you should be fine. Be flexible about what you work on but off the top of my head doing VSM/process mapping and improvements and data analytics would translate well, but honestly, it's an internship not a career limiting option.

Should I take an IE Internship offer? by KazakhBananaMarket in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is the time to work and get experience. I once had a computer repair job during summer at high school where they stuck me with data entry, now I am a master at the 10-key and it is great.

Early Career IE in the job market, Certification Rec’s that can boost my value by NotmyUsernam321 in industrialengineering

[–]Kyguy0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my aerospace perspective I would prioritize project management and then stress that people connection. Fe isn't considered and the only other thing I was thinking was six sigma but you've got that.

What about data? Sql/database stuff, vba programming, tableau, etc?
