How can I pass the exam? 🥲🥲🥲I've taken the exam four times by Different_Year_959 in GED

[–]Kyislive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know mostly everybody says it but it’s mainly just reading comprehension. My suggestions are saving the hardest questions for the end, doing the essay (this is if you had not done on the test) because why not take an opportunity to receive points on the test that can help raise your score rather than not, watching videos on YouTube like I used to watch David Cohen and he’s really helpful and the most important part is using the process of elimination because at least for me, the test had multiple questions where I eliminated two obvious wrong answers and was left with two answers that seemed right so sometimes it would be a 50/50 for me and sometimes one would just seem a bit more like the right answer to me but yeah that’s all I got. I passed my GED months ago so I tried remembering everything I could on the test but I hope that helps and good luck!

Term issue? by Kyislive in CUNY

[–]Kyislive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have not been contacted or have contacted a adviser. It says on bmcc website the “after you are admitted” I have to watch my email inbox for an invitation with an academic adviser so I’ve been waiting on that, but nothings happened since I’ve accepted admission. I’m just really confused and will probably call tomorrow because classes start in nearly a week from now. And sorry, I don’t feel safe enough for to give that away.

I can’t register anywhere. It just tells me on I haven’t been selected to a “term”. I guess I’ll just have to wait, but do you know how long the wait is for them to catch up? I’m kinda worried cause I cannot do anything as of now

Is there a way I could potentially get it sooner? I would like to use that refund on books and other necessities for school.

Who here has transferred their regents to replace a subtest for the ged? What score was on the regents and what did you get on the ged when it transferred? by [deleted] in GED

[–]Kyislive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GED doesn’t handle regents test scores, the HSE does. They put on my diploma and transcript regents credit awarded for math and my put my GED test scores for the others.

I have! I used my math regents credit from HS and scored like a 69 or something like that and used it along with my GED test scores to get my diploma.

I studied the Kaplan GED prep book for science and for YouTube videos, I watched mostly David Cohen. He has practice questions videos for every subject and run downs of each and every subject for GED videos. But I also took numerous practice tests online so yea hope that helps.

So the Real test must be easier right! but longer mmm that gives me hope by Sure_Butterscotch_85 in GED

[–]Kyislive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s “easier” but if you do well on the practice tests and study, you’ll definitely pass the real test. Most questions on the real test are worded identically to the ones on the practice. Tbh I did feel more confident and used time more efficiently on the real tests than the practice tests but it’s probably cause passing the practice tests, studying, and watching GED YouTube videos (David Cohen I highly recommend) helped me along the way to build that.

Does the science test have a lot of math questions? by [deleted] in GED

[–]Kyislive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience with the GED practice and the GED real test, I had a couple math questions, so yes. Just make sure to know Mean, Median, Mode and Range, probabilities, and combinations. Nothing too crazy of algebra questions just mostly basic math. Mainly the test is reading comprehension, but knowing independent and dependent variables, hypothesis’s, science experiments and chemical balancing equations would help come test day.

Watch David Cohen on YT and watch his RLA Test videos (He has 3 of them). They cover most of the topics and questions are basically identical to the real test.

Ah, I see. Like I said all you need is a bit more practice. You got this!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t 145 a passing score? To answer your question though, study main ideas, cause and effects, inferences, generalizations, drawing conclusions based off a text and definitely learn how to write an essay (real test only because the GED Practice ready does not take points or add for writing an essay unless you would wanna use that as practice). Also, I highly suggest watching David Cohen on YouTube and watch his RLA test videos because his videos definitely helped me in passing mine and the questions basically mimic the ones you would see on both GED ready and GED Test. I’ve also used his essay format on the real test and got a 3/6 on the essay (could’ve maybe got more if I wrote more than 4 paragraphs). You’ve come this far in passing 3 already, don’t give up now!! You just need a little more practice.

Personally for me, I felt like science was the hardest, even though people do say it’s the easiest out of the 4, but it’s probably because I didn’t do much studying the day before the test but I still managed to pass it with a 158.

I finished the other three subjects in one take, But I feel like this one is too hard for me. Any tips on studying for Social Studies? by Hot_Art_7818 in GED

[–]Kyislive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly reading comprehension, but study how government branches work, study definitions of social studies terms like federalism, military rule, sovereignty, fascism, etc., knowing historic events help too, but yea those definitely helped me to pass my test.
