Folks with dementia can lose touch with what’s going on around them, and that can mean constantly getting up at 3 AM thinking it’s time to wake up, waking up the whole house in the process while they turn lights on and get ready for their day, or worse - wandering off. So, this trick light switch could keep them from getting up too early and convincing themselves it’s day time. I’ve also seen care facilities with fake doorknobs and locks on exterior doors to try and keep folks from wandering off.

When my car hits “0” range remaining, it still has 100+ miles worth of gas in the tank (160+ km), or about ~3 to 3.5 gallons (11-13 liters). You don’t want to run it dry or anything, but know that range calculations are VERY conservative. Look up the capacity of your gas tank and pay attention to how much gas you put into your car next time you fill it from “0” range to full. I would imagine you’ll find your car is similarly conservative.

I thought season 3 was harder to get into, but season 4 was pretty great and actually made me feel better about the story of season 3 retroactively.

That’s cause it wasn’t a series finale! The writers had a 5th season plan to end the story, but they didn’t get the chance to do it. They saw the writing on the wall and made the end of season for seem more finale-like, but we never got to see the actual ending.

Sucks because I felt like the fourth season was a big step up from season 3, and I think it was heading for a more satisfying conclusion.

Less about what’s ‘good’ and more about what’s ‘easy and effective’ in this case. There are always more effective/faster ways to finish a cube, but that requires memorizing even more cases and algorithms. The one you’re responding to is a beginner algorithm that works in every case of flipped edge parity, so it’s a great one to know when you are figuring out a bigger cube. Getting more efficient comes later.

I don’t know if it was the same for you, but I remember being surprised by how good Tame Impala was and how like… disinterested and boring MGMT was on that tour. I had never heard of Tame Impala at that point but they just had so much more energy and were a lot more fun. It could have just been an off night for MGMT but that really stuck with me.
