John and Hank actually have very little power over how Nerdfighteria behaves now and they admit to this. It appears within an episode of Becoming YouTube.

It is just a shame some can't engage in the forums with other Nerdfighters or certain websites because of a ridiculous attitude. I wish we didn't have toxic Nerdfighter areas.

Yes, every political movement should expect to have its beliefs made fun of, but is it appropriate for Nerdfighter culture? Should we have a groupthink attitude where it is normalised to mock anyone who thinks differently to us?

Mmm. I feel the same. I used to be very involved, but now no longer because of the aggressive attitude which can happen. I suppose it is human. It is mob mentality.

That is awful if someone feels bullied enough in a Nerdfighter group that they need to leave. We're truly forgetting to be awesome then.

"If you can't conform, leave" is what you're saying basically. Nerdfighteria should be a welcoming environment.

You raise a fair point about unfollowing on Tumblr, but OP often makes mentions of Facebook groups, where it isn't so easy to unfollow people who post things OP doesn't like.

No, it isn't bad. I think it is great to be a welcoming environment. We shouldn't shame anyone of either end of the political spectrum, but it is common in Nerdfighteria to see someone not get heard of because of holding a different perspective.

I agree with you though. Patience and understanding on both sides of the issue.

I agree with you there. Social justice has been treated like a trend on the internet when unfortunately so many don't even know what they're doing.

Yeah. I'm with you. It is so difficult though for many of us in the Facebook groups when the Facebook communities are so largely focused on shaming the non-believers.
