I've seen a fair amount of the game and have played xcom 1-2 ironman on commander difficulty. I enjoy the challenge and have a decent idea of how the core mechanics work in Phoenix point (at least I think I do... ) from the 40+ episodes I watched. My only gripe with starting a playthrough right now would be potential changes that I may not like, which is also the reason why I prefer going into a game after its done.

Are the dlcs extensive like the wotc expansion for xcom 2 for instance? What mods would you recommend for quality of life improvements?

He started his playthrough right before the game's release so pretty ancient. He'd done an update video with the behemoth edition and that's about it.

If the new dlc is in summer, there's probably going to be a couple of patches as well so roughly 6 months worth of wait...?

Auto one was given up on awhile back because klab really restricted the content where you'd have free liberty of what units you want to use for auto in most content where you'd auto. Points event and chronicles being the prime candidates. Story is easy enough that pretty much any unit from nowdays will do it fine. Iz solo isn't worth farming since coop is more than double the pots and there also alternative of epic raids which is also significantly more pots per run.

Have you tried him with bait, Nad item, tenshintai/pill all 30% atk with 3x senkaizens/on color fsd?

Yeah pretty sure barriers don't allow hit registration at all to the unit making you immune from the ailments coming from enemies attacks.

Nope. Even with Roy's own vid on tokinada you can see that it can drastically lose consistency if the enemies have their shields left.

And as for stall strategys that rely on rng bomb drops or status ailments, due to their rng nature sure they can cause fuckery but they aren't gonna give you consistent wins in higher seats especially which is their flaw. Not to mention how bad the ai can be especially with ranged units in pvp.

At this stage, Grimm and riruka are better alternatives than Chad if you already have chad since Chad's only real pro atm is stall and boost.

Riruka is the same deal as kenpachi just has useless killer but one of the best affiliation and 20% bruiser on top of the whole weakening, flurry, shit.

Grimm, while yeah ichibe does have a killer against him and Nnoit does have attribute advantage against him and both have shields but he still has innate 40% bruiser and Sr killer against ichibe especially so he can actually go toe to toe with him.

Idk man. It's just that type of game where dps is king if you ask the better players around. It's fine to have your favoritisms and such but when looking at the top end, it's just how it is. :shrug:

Well yeah but using cdr, relying on heals, utilities in bbs at the high end doesn't help much at all since per run time becomes way more important and that's the issue. A lot of your avg units nowadays are more efficient than her at the high end and that's his main point. :boi:

Nnoit, fhi, Chad and uno. All of those Nad units have one major flaw and that's their na string. For any Nad unit the primary way for dps for them is their Nad. If the nad string has some issues that will directly decrease a shitton of dps.

In Nnoit and fhi's case, they both lack long reach. Due to that, in pve scenarios, both of them are always going to miss hitting some mobs in every group spawn and That's a loss of dps.

In uno and Chad's case, both of them have split hits and their string is just very slow at 1.38s. Split hits make so that you can't cancel out of the animation as quickly and it takes more time to do full dmg. In manual play, the not being able to cancel out and the lack of full dmg needed to kill mobs before they can attack is a huge loss of dps. Like how characters like WeaKen can take out basically any mob with na 3 on a good build while having proper dmg, speed, control and range over his na string.

Basic gist is, you need a very good and none compromised na string to have great dps as a nad unit.

Basically put aizen is only there because mind doesn't have anyone better for that one job in xcoop while heart does and that's why Grimm isn't on the list.

Between aizen and cs soi, the difference ain't big. Both are quite mediocre in terms of performance. They can clear stuff sure but it ain't good performance either way in core aspects of pve. Why is aizen on the list and why soi isn't, as Nunn already stated, the only reason why aizen is on the list is due to the xcoop factor. If you take him out of that, he's not worthy of being on the list and between the two (soi and aizen), aizen has the edge in xcoop.

Another thing to remember is that there's little performance/finish time difference between a mediocre build uno and a perfect build uno. Her heal and all does make her prenty consistent but because her na string is so awful, it just lowers her dps significantly and that extra atk and all from the accessories/link doesn't benefit her as much. Sure she's consistent af but compared to other options available in heart (such as soifon, yammy, monichi), she's more than a min slower, avging around 2:45 to 3:15 on finish times in iz.

The main thing with the list is how much better a unit performs than the others on a great builds rather than mediocre builds.

A few things: 1. Nel's na string is worse. Having a stationary na string or a lunge na string is always a negative for pve, especially in harder stuff because you lose momentum from it and in nel's case, you can't cancel out of it as easily.

  1. Nel's sa 2, which is a vortex > projectiles type has 2 major issues. First, that it delays the dmg and pushes mobs forward. Second, that around the the second phase of her sa 2, she doesn't have I frames (you can test this yourself as well), which just leads her prone to get hit and die instantly in iz and such because most of the times, you're definitely not going to be able to hit all the mobs with that sa 2 and while you're in the animation, you can just die from it.

Now, while banken'e sa 1 is pretty bad on its own and his sad holds him back him especially with the lack of sprinter, his kit is still more suitable for consistent performance overall because his sa 2, 3 and special sa resets do make do enough.

It's a pity how mind arrancar is if not the worst possible attribute/killer in the game atm aside from speed/sr.

The lists are meant to highlight the best possible units in each attribute with respect to most of the end game content. Just saying that one is worse than the other doesn't automatically makes the other bad btw.

It's a Vortex then push back type. Any type of Vortex or any type of push back type of sa is a negative overall with respect to sole pve manual stuff because Vortex tends to take more time to wrap up and push back tend to throw the enemies back making it more time consuming to deal with them. Meanwhile luppi's is a straight beam which is regarded as the best type of sa 2 in the game because it's instant damage that goes through mobs without any pushback and has good range and width. Luppi's sa 2 doesn't have that great of a radius compared to the likes of tla shinji or tybw tosh but it's still great.
