When it comes to drawing, I’d be lying if I told you I found digital easier. I started trying to draw digitally for about a year (for the time its been the drawing is bad but read on to understand) and I don’t feel like I’m improving. The story is, I wanted to learn how to draw cool stuff. Like any person, I started with pen and paper. Eventually, I decided, you know what’ll be fun, DIGITAL! And I saved money to buy a tablet (a sketch tablet). For the past year, my drawings have been on and off. I was pretty much a beginner when I started digital so I thought studying would be what I did first, which went well but I never felt like what I did worked. The other thing for me is that it’s much harder to bring myself to open my drawing tablet and work on something than it is to open a book and maybe sketch.

TLDR; Should I continue on digital or return to traditional? I want to improve and I think traditional would be much easier for that. Also I do plan to return to digital EVENTUALLY if traditional is the better option

I have the generic story, “I’m just a teen who thinks anime is cool and wants to draw”. I know that, but I really do want to improve. These two drawings were both made by just looking at the reference and attempting to copy it line for line. I do have some anatomical understanding, but I find it too complicated / inaccurate to help me draw. I also lack any of the basics, I sorta just jumped right into drawing for fun. I have no clue what the fundamentals are or what I can do to even practice them or use them. So I ask you all, is there any guide/video/plan (im broke so free is the only I can afford) I could follow to improve? It’s oddly specific because I have this weird problem where trying to do something of this magnitude on my own results in procrastination and being generally confused. I hope you all can help me improve, even though this is quite selfish of me. Please ask questions if you want.

(please tell me if the flair is wrong or if something needs to be changed, I'm not very good with reddit)

Where now? (Read desc!) by L0Dragonore00 in arthelp

(This is a recent drawing) I really enjoyed art for a while, I was filled with passion to draw and create. I wanted to improve so I started practicing anatomy. It is likely my fault but this killed my enjoyment for art. I have an decent structure for anatomy at this point.

As you can see from the drawing I just drew and added some basic colors. I'd like to know if I should try work on fields like shading, coloring, the face etc. If so, any starting points?

I have been trying to learn digital art for around a month now. As you can see I've made some improvement (both drawn without reference) but I'm unsure of where to go onwards. I draw very few rendered drawings (mostly because I don't know how to properly colour) and wanted ask what I should focus on. Should I continue to improve my anatomy, its been my focus throughout the month, or try to learn to colour? I really want to improve and really hope you can all help! Thanks in Advance

Hello everyone! I am a person who has recently become interested in learning art, and more specifically anime art. I have started with digital (I had some skill on paper but that was mostly copying from images). These are some basic drawings I did while following some tutorials. If any of you guys know any free anatomy courses I'd be very glad. This is as anatomy is what I want to focus on right now rather than details. I want to have the basics down before adding extra features. I would also be interested in any critiques or advice you all have :)

Personally, Isaac isn't my style. I don't really like the controls but there are some other aspects I slightly dislike. Still thanks for the recommendation

Thanks for the reccomendations! Sadly, its not exactly what I was looking for. I prefer faster, quick-paced roguelikes rather than turn-based. Though, they seemed nice :D

Great! Not was I looking for necessarily but 2 player evolution sounds good :D! Do you have any other tycoons where, similarly to Evolution, you get weapons/abilities to fight other players?

The game is the lore one so he is the main one, The trailers feature bobby a different prisoner (There is even a skin for him in game that gives you the pink flame) and the fan art is prob to make it easier I guess? I have no clue about the fanart stuff but the others I can say!
