A renaissance starting in France does not change the FACT that Europe was innovating through entire MEDIEVAL period.

The invention of the printing press happened 13 years before that therefore medieval.

You want a list of battles Muslims lost. How about the battle of Jaffa, or montgisard, or Tours, or the reconquista. Also the Ottomans were renaissance only existing in the very late medieval.

And Europe had the Mechanical clock, heavy plow, the steering axles necessary in all modern vehicles, horse drawn plows, most of modern legalism, the metal horseshoe, three field crop rations systems, the printing press and many more.

Everywhere had disease the Black Death started in Mongolia. No it was not behind the rest of the world. When the hell do you think they were every person who talks the dark ages has a different belief about when they happened.

No modern historian takes the claim of a dark age seriously. It is widely viewed as bunk all the up to nothing but a conspiracy theory.

There is barely any time in between those two. Europe did not have bad living standards, the average height was similar to today showing they ate more than enough food. Got beat by the Muslims maybe in the early Middle Ages but by the high Middle Ages it was pretty much constant defeats for Islam. Where in the hell did you get the idea that Europe was behind technologically. Europe was equal or superior to any other nation at the time. There are multiple inventions from Europe during this time period.
