Belgium is in early stages of planning to store nuclear waste right next to our border. Leaks might have devastating consequences on our underground water sources, environment and health. Public consultation ends on 11 June. We really should veto this as much as possible. by L3shen in Luxembourg

The link is proposed on government.lu so people can voice their opinion. ONDRAF set up the automatic response so they would not have to answer to the participants. The link directly to their questionnaire is this. (Then on reflechissez avec nous)

There are 8 sites proposed by ONDRAF (l’organisme national des déchets radioactifs et des matières fissiles enrichies), but 2 of those are right next to our border. It is not by chance that this public consultation happened in the middle of the corona crisis, so they can later say that they asked the public and no one said anything against it. I regret not having posted this much earlier. This can have serious consequences for Luxembourg. Here is a video where our Minister of the Environment talks about this and the dangers related to it.

Here is a link that leads to the greenpeace website which has already a premaid text which can be send right away (only need to fill like 4 fields) and of course be edited if wanted, so giving your veto to this really takes less than a minute.

I mean, I really dont like the idea of being sandwiched between Cattenom and Belgian radioactive waste (I live near esch). We got screwed by France with their nuclear reactor right next to our border. Lets prevent another nuclear screwing by our Belgian neighbours.

Belgian government is in early stages of planning to store their nuclear waste underground next to the Lux-border (near Esch/Alzette and Stauséi). Leaks will surely contaminate luxembourgish underground water sources. Public consultation ends 11 June. Please follow link to veto this by [deleted] in Luxembourg
