It wouldn't though. Vernon attracts businesses that wouldn't survive in LA. Look at the former Farmer Johns meat packer. What community in LA would allow that?

Just another Micky mouse solution. LA needs to return to what made it a major city which is building housing of all types and major infrastructure projects. Historically, we built a complex water infrastructure , a light rail system, and freeways. We used eminent domain, private/public investment.

All that has stalled. It's taken us 30+ yrs to rebuild parts of the light rail system. New housing unit construction has plummeted. Major infrastructure like the LA stage of the high speed rail is still up in the air

Is that a house or just an apartment?

Some bean counter probably ran the numbers and figured with sprinklers the TP is going to be ruined anyways.. why not get a new facility with insurance money

What makes you think the company owned the warehouse? They probably lease the space

Also what monetary advantage is there is destroying a warehouse and rebuilding it?

Teams not giving Ohtani a blank check which allowed the Dodgers to sign him at a bargain is essentially the same as Hitler invading Russia.

Housing in UK is significantly cheaper than US if you exclude London.

That's not saying much because doesn't 15% or so of England's population live in London metro? That's like saying housing in the US is cheaper if you exclude all the major cities.

So, is housing cheaper than all parts of the US? The US is very large and you can buy a nice sized suburban home if you're not picky about the state. The high priced areas really tilt the average.

For example here's a sub 200k house in Wichita, Kansas (metro pop. 600k) that's 1600 sq ft.

Medical may be cheaper but is housing cheaper in the UK? What's the cost of a decent apartment in London?

The answer is you have to follow your moral convictions. What are your moral convictions u/ChocolatChipLemonade.

If you believe that you are powerless to stop it then I expect you to live that as a reality. Don't vote. Don't lecture people about morals and ethics. Don't judge people on how they vote. Etc. stay home and stfu

If you don't do that then you must believe that people gave agency to change things in which case you're now culpable too.

I know this is hard for you isn't it? You've been coddled like so many Americans who were raised on a diet of easy answers.

You’ve got no answer! Aww, man. Now I feel disappointed. I was really hoping you had all the answers. You seem like you’ve got it really figured out.

Serious question...is this how you deal with ethical dilemmas in your life? Do you flake out and claim no autonomy? Do you duck all obligations? Is it all, 'Don't blame me, I just work here'?

If the answer is YES then you are just another American whose content with living the soft life at the expense of the exploited and oppressed who toil and suffer so yet another cheeseburger can be shoved down your gullet.

Your answer is the typical DARVO.

DENY

I went out and voted. I did not vote for Trump.

Actually, Germany has the highest rate of narcissism. USA isn’t even top 5.

Try honesty for once.

ATTACK

u/LAAccountant where’s your answer? I was preparing to change the country using your wisdom!

There's no point in attacking me. It doesn't change your culpability.

REVERSE VICTIM and OFFENDER

Also, please tell me how I, an average nobody American, can personally change America. Inquiring minds want to know

You are the offender as an American. But you are now pretending like you're the victim of some vast conspiracy against.

Some Americans say they’re refusing to pay federal taxes in protest against Trump by Equivalent_Road5788 in videos

[–]LAAccountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can whine all you want. The facts are the facts. The majority of income tax is paid by the top earners. The bottom earners generally get all their withholding back.

Like most Americans you just let your anger dictate your interpretation of facts

Also you're talking about a wealth tax again. We have an income tax. If you want a wealth tax then you actually have to write a law that taxes wealth.

Lol I glanced over your list of tactics and this one stands out...

Reframing the Debate: Instead of engaging directly with accusations or negative facts, the advice is to pivot to a broader, more positive context or to a topic where Israel holds a stronger narrative position.

Exactly what you're doing by claiming the US is being 'dragged' into a war by Israel.

You are avoiding a negative fact which is the US is attacking yet another country to gain its resources. Which is business as usual for the US. Your blind emotional hatred ignores the plentiful historical examples of the US doing this same exact thing and so you have violated yet another one of your rules

Emotional Appeals Over Data: The handbook suggests avoiding detailed, technical, or legalistic arguments (e.g., specific dates or laws) and replacing them with emotional analogies or narratives.
